You can protect us from the Russians, but it would seem, not from an invasion of the third world, armed with rubber dingy's. I don't blame our armed forces, however, I do blame our weak and totally useless, Uniparty politicians.

Do we really need an American accent and the American spelling of "centre" If they want to pretend to be British for money they should get it right. Some elderly Britons notice these things.

HMS Agamemnon emerged from the Devonshire Dock Hall at Barrow today, marking the transition from the construction phase to the test and commissioning phase. Following the roll out from the DDH, she will be lowered into the water on the shiplift and moved to the test and commissioning quay where her reactor will go critical for the first time.

With HMS Anson now at sea, the Royal Navy is fielding one of its most advanced submarines in the world. Meanwhile, HMS Triumph, the last active Trafalgar-class submarine, complements the numbers showing the fleet’s ability to sustain a balanced operational presence even as older vessels near the end of their service

Hypersonic missiles can be very accurately directed as we have seen, they are also capable of eluding missile defense systems, so why be dumb enough to build more aircraft carriers?

Over a billion spent on a massive aircraft carrier that can easily be sunk by hypersonic missiles, and presents a huge target, I wonder why Russia stopped building them?The F35 is not competitive because so many branches of the US military had certain demands of the aircraft’s capabilities , ( too many cooks spoil the broth) ergo its pet name the flying dump truck

The RN should have sufficient F35B aircraft to fully equip both carriers with reserves to make good losses. In addition to the RAF have several squadrons of F35B to replace the Harriers they lost. Further upgraded F35A airframes also need to be purchased to expend RAF capability.

also not correct , our government just announced they will order a third frigate last week So Belgium will have not 2 but 3 Frigates , while The Netherlands have changed their order from 2 to 3 possible even 4 Frigates. The existing AA Frigates will get an upgrade and The Netherlands have said they will next go for a new AA frigate which will replace the now being updated ones by 2050. At that time the Belgian navy will look into if that version of Frigate would also be a possibility to enhance the current Frigate fleet even more.

I think the RN should convert one of the QE carriers into an amphibious assault ship by converting the rear into a landing craft dock as they not using it as a large carrier as it has no catapult or arrester. Once ready sell or scrap the other QE carrier. That would make so much more sense.
@ianwebb1402
@ianwebb1402 8 күн бұрын
This makes no sense whatsoever. What are you going to rip out of the ship in order to fit a landing dock? Also in order to operate a landing dock she would have to flood down making her existing deep draught even deeper. This would mean she then has to launch amphibious units much further from the beach which offers no operational advantages whatsoever and would render and landing craft so launched extremely vulnerable to enemy fire. All LHAs/LHDs are designed and built as such from the keel up to do a very specific job with a shallow draught. Converting QE or PoW would be time consuming, incredibly expensive and impractical. We have two perfectly functional LPDs, we just need the political will to use them properly.

Only 8 F35Bs! What a joke. The 22,000 ton Invincible class carriers deployed 12 Harriers. The QE class carriers are 64,000 ton. Why didn't they just keep the 3 Invincible class carriers?

Because they were old, limited in scope and not designed for Sea Harriers in the first place. Just take a look at a schematic of the hangar deck. I should know I served on one. Also the Invincible Class only surged to 12 SHARs during conflict which put a real strain on the ship as this necessitated half the Air Group being kept on the flight deck. In conflict the QEs Air Group could surge considerably up to 36 F35s.

Much of the UK's SSN technology is overhyped and euphoric. I remember during the launch of Astute class SSN, they stated the sonar used is so advanced that standing in the waters of Southampton Astute can track movement of ships across the Atlantic. BAE & Rolls Royce think that the people around the globe 🌎 are fools that you can sell just about any possible propaganda. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Makes no sense. 57mm is the minimum price to entry for short range anti air warfare, the 76mm is the best medium range AAW, and the 127mm is the best at long range AAW gun. However the 57mm is horrendous against anything larger than a patrol boat, the 76mm is poor surface/ ASUW gun, and the 127mm is inferior to the 76mm in AAW in any category other than range. So you need all three together on the same ship to give you same as you need different missile types for ASUW and AAW independently depending on type of opponent aswell as their range and size.

The Skyranger 35 Anti Aircraft gun system must be an option on the Type 31 class ship as it is much better than the old Phalanx gun that was first doveloped in 1982.
