Did you end up getting the Teacher's guide? Why? I am about to purchase Book 10 for my 10th grader, and I am debating whether or not I should buy them both. Some Teacher's guides are very helpful, and others simply are there to collect dust. I guess my question is, can the student complete the student book without the Teacher's guide, or do they work together to teach the lessons? I need to finish getting the curriculum for this upcoming year and I'm behind, so if you can let me know your response as soon as you can...I would appreciate it SO MUCH!!

Back in the late '80s when I was in 11th grade in my Econ class we were told by the teacher that he was going to skip the Constitution because we would get that next year in Government class. But when the next year came and I was sitting in my Government class The teacher said we're going to skip the Constitution because we got it last year in our Econ class. When the students spoke up including myself and said no, we didn't. We were told we were not going to do it, and then said just read it yourself. Years later after I was married I mentioned this story to my husband. My husband is 2 years older than me and went to a whole different School district as he lived in a different county. He had the same experience! When we discuss this with our children who are now grown and married... We come to find out they were told the same thing as well! My children are 7 years apart in age and went to two different schools and two different school districts.

Do you feel level 7 could be used with a separate writing curriculum? I looked at samples online and it looked very different from previous levels. We are using another writing curriculum through our co-op and I don’t want to overwhelm my reluctant writer. I am thinking of doing level 6 instead, so curious about your thoughts if you have had the chance to look through it at all.🙂
@domesticchaoscoordinator3743

I think it's definitely personal preference. I've never added any extra writing curriculum pieces, because I've always felt that what we've used is enough, especially for middle school. However, I've seen alot of people add in things like IEW, etc to get even more writing practice in. But for us, we've never added anything extra 😊

My 8th grader who did Physical Science this year, loved the short lessons and how the lessons followed the notes. Even when he missed an answered once he re-read the question he was able to get the correct answer. I loved that I didn't have to teach science! Also, Science Shepherd is currently running an up to 40% off sale until May 31.
