My son started doing this not too long ago he’s 5m it’s scary :/ he goes to the dr in a few weeks he smiles regularly but I’ve never seen a baby do that before anyone know what this is or could mean?

Well i have a 6 months now he is active , sleeps a lot and during whole night ,only wakes to have milk and amazing eye contact and responds to his name. I probably dont have nothing to worry he does it when he is sleepy due to teething as well. Anyway for worried moms everything will be ok , there is plenty of therapy just remember it didnt have a name back then , they eventually grow out of this . Sending love

Get a small potty & put it in the living room for two weeks. Strip him naked and sit him on the potty every 30 mins. Will be pooping in the potty by day three!

His brother was actually just diagnosed and I'm going to have him evaluated as well. He definitely has anxiety, sensory, and emotional regulation issues so perhaps there could be a connection.

My son shook his head from side to side from 8 months until 2 years. And he is totally normal! I think they mostly do this from excitement; also they love that dizzy feeling from shaking their heads from side to side

He grew out of it. I think it is normal for infants and is usually gone by the 1 year birthday or so.

Yeah..he’s 7 months know and doesn’t do it at all. I also read babies do this to fall asleep or they notice they get a reaction from you. I would only be worried if your baby doesn’t make eye contact or keeps their head low when being called

@@Jazzy0316 why keeping their head "low"? My other kid was diagnosed on the spectrum and just appears like he doesn't hear me. He's always in his own little world or just doesn't want to be disturbed.

Correct, sorry let me clarify, they usually seem like their in their own world. When playing they don’t look up to seek you or in response to their name. They continue to do whatever they’re doing

There’s also amazing resources out there in behavioral therapy to help with this. I’ve worked with children on the spectrum and some start really young, complete treatment, and you would of never known they are on the spectrum

My baby use to do that too while sleeping. Now she is 18 months and no longer does that. There are some signs to watch, but in general is a normal thing. 😊

He never slept. He cried and wouldn't let me sit down so I had to pace the hallway all night until I eventually turned into a monster when the sun came up.
