It is really important to take the old filler out yes. Otherwise the filler gets in the way of the lift. Often people need much less or no filler after this operation.

6:49: I mean, you haven’t looked like your younger self in years, so that’s gone either way. I guess the question is: Are you fine smiling back at death from a bottom-heavy face or would you rather do so from an ageless one with a beautiful neck- and jawline that suggests youth (particularly when you’ve managed to avoid sun damage and subtly add back volume). If it’s the latter you absolutely must find a capable surgeon. Very good video!

everyone ages differently and if you do everything you can include volumising, implants etc you can hide some of the signs but no-one gets away with it forever.

Dr Goodwin, what do you think of the hidden scar deep plane facelifts, where incissions are put high above the temples on the scull, hidden by hair, and the neck area is accessed through incissions behind the ears. Sounds wonderful, but isn’t it in reality a luxury available only for those with no or minimal skin laxity, who only need to fix the position of the underlying tissues?

yes, almost all ageing faces need skin removing and there is no way with that technique

very informative video with honest truths. I had a Face & neck lift surgery and definitely swelling under the chin recovers in a long time. most of the videos in youtube says you can actually recover in just a few weeks which is not the truth

I have never understood the filler trend. I'm saving up for a good quality facelift when I feel it's necessary. In the meantime I have discovered weightlifting can drastically sculpt the face and neck.

yes they can. many do. I prefer dissolving as if they are very fine they leave a better scar

Keep your face out of the sun , wear a Sun hat & use a sunscreen ( all year round ) Decent moisturiser ,dont eat & drink rubbish & get plenty of sleep .... No surgery required !

With all due respect to you, Dr. Goodwin, although i am so glad you have shown the reality of what it is like to gain a lot of weight and lose it only to be left either with enormous amosts of skin or major surgery of which i have heard is very painful and unsightly. Where i would disagree is the statement not only by you but others who say obesity is a disease. Obesity leads to diseases. I am a 67 female just like anyone else who has to be diligent in what I put in my mouth. It's been that way most of my life and menopause is no exception. Even when i was youn, ha ing my 3 daughters i never went by the philosophy you are eating for two. Self dislipine like you have pretty much alluded to at the end of the video is the key. I think this is a necessary video to hopefully help someone realize sacrificing their health is not worth this. I have actually heard a few people say, they wish they had not lost the weight because of the sagging skin.
