Between 1 (firm) and the 1080 v13 how squishy is this?

I would give it a 7. It may be on the squishy side, but I find it more responsive and I can pick up the pace

From all those high cushioning shoes, the Wave Sky 8 is one of the most versatile and fastest. For me it loses only to the Invincible 3 in max speed and equals to the MagMax Nitro from Puma. And totally destroy , in speed and versatility, skies like the Gel-Nimbus 26 , Triumph 22 or 1080 v14. These are all high cushioning shoes for low speed runs only. I do agree that the Sky 8 is not as soft as a More v5 or a Gel-Nimbus. I think the Wave Sky 8 works in a rotation for those, like myself, that loves high cushioning shoes for daily trainers. Can use a Nimbus for easy days , a MagMax for long runs and like the Sky 8 as a luxurious Pegasus Plus or a Velocity Nitro 3 for faster days. The Sky 8 can be a bit unstable at higher speed, but the bounce from the heel with the combination of a firner and also bounce forefoot makes this high cushioning shoes very different from most that are available on the market.

My previous fast day shoe was Hyperion Max… it got bloated and heavier and I switched to Hyperion 2. Love this shoe. Word is that Hyperion 3 is going to get heavier with a bigger stack. 😕 This shoe is successful because of the light minimalist nature with the fantastic upper and lock down laces.

I love this shoe. The foam is worth every penny. I absolutely agree with your nitpicking when it comes to the tongue. Every single time I put it on the sides fold over and I have to adjust haha but definitely not a big deal. Funny enough I've had pretty good luck with the Continental grip on wet runs on asphalt. It's gripped well for me. Could be that I'm a heavier runner so it presses into the asphalt more and gets gripper with weight? Great review. Hype is real! I think the only true negative of this shoe is that it's had a weird release and it's hard to get right now!

Some people are upset it got softer but if you ask me, this was a great move by asics. They needed to truly set this shoe apart from the Superblast. The 3rd version was so good but didn’t last long. If they can bring that same perfect level of cushion and response with durability, it’s a winner. I tried these on in store and was pleasantly surprised. Will be buying a pair soon!

@@The_Shoe_In_With_Cody This might sound confusing, but bear with me. While both are technically Lightstrike Pro, the formulation of the Lightstrike Pro in the Evo SL is closer to the one in Adios Pro 3 (could be the same formulation even) than in Adios Pro 4 and Pro Evo. The TPEE based Lightstrike Pro in both Evo SL and Adios Pro 3 are denser than the one in Adios Pro 4. The Lighstrike Pro in the Pro Evo is not made of TPEE but supercritical PEBA.
