Gorgeous mountains and landscape, what a place to grow up or live and fly. I flew in Southern California from late 80s to late 90s. I had a 120 miles/190 Km XC flight in Owens Valley, 7 hours in the air reaching 17,300 feet/5,240m altitude. It was a long and joyeous drive back to Ridgecrest with fellow friends and pilots.

Beautiful Gliders Thanks for sharing . The Dolomites are wonderful. I would love to fly there. I have flown Telluride , which is quite spectacular too. Looking out over all the peaks is magical.

Mit Blick auf Deine Aufnahmen, hätte ich nicht Versucht, den Pass Thurn zu überfliegen, und hätte spontan ein anderes Ziel gewählt. Hintergrund ist, dass ich jedes Jahr nur eine Woche (die letzten beiden Sommer zwei) in den Bergen fliege, und das schon ziemlich oft trotz Gewitterwarnungen - allerdings nicht unter Gewitterwolken... Natürlich habe ich auch schon mehrere Flüge wegen Blitz und Donner abgebrochen - räumlich überschaubaren Schauern bin ich manchmal einfach nur ausgewichen. Das Gleitschirmfliegen ist ja zwangsläufig von permanenten Risikoabwägungen begleitet - und selbst die "sicheren Abgleiter" von regelmäßigen Unfällen. Nach Deinem Braueck-Dreieck-Video habe ich mir auch Dein DHV-XC-Profil angesehen, und mich dann erst gewundert, dass Du von Deinem "Pinzgauer Spaziergang" (2019) kein Video eingestellt und seit März diesen Jahres auch keine GS-Flüge mehr hochgeladen hast. Mein Daumendruck, dass der Hintergrund nur eine Umorientierung auf neue Aktivitäten ist.

Dann drücke ich mal weiter die Daumen!
