He's awesome. He defends Lewis too much, in part because psychologically it makes him feel better about his championship, and he competed against Lewis directly so he has an appreciation for Lewis' talent. The truth is F1 is not remotely a level playing field, by design, and therefore makes a terrible benchmark for who the best driver is. Indy is much better for illustrating who the best drivers are.

Now that a few years have gone bye I think both lewis and nico developed more respect for one another. Not to say they’re friends again, but looking back on their fights it was just racers wanting to win at the end of the day
