What if a guy doesn’t have a vacuum? Can I just squeegee the rug and let it dry ? I’m Redding now and it’s 105° out. It’s pretty thick as well like 1” 9’x12’
@carpetcleanertraining802010 күн бұрын
With a thicker rug they hold a ton of water so it's going to take a long time to dry. Put blowers under it and try to float it. It will dry eventually but I would try to find a way to suck it out. Rent possibly

Not overkill it's the same as scrubbing after pre spraying just with a bonnet not a brush. Scrubbing should be done every cleaning.

@@carpetcleanertraining8020 Thank you for your reply. I was really asking because I am looking for safe options across all chemicals I used for this industry. I am a startup and would love to know your thoughts. Also, do you have any recommendations on electronic fiber ID test analyzers?
@carpetcleanertraining80202 ай бұрын
Have not thought about that. That would be a good idea, however I think it would be very expensive. Fiber ID is not difficult It's best just to learn how to perform one. As far as the solvents, all solvents are going to have some inherent health risks. However, those can be mitigated by using proper protection when using them.

@@carpetcleanertraining8020 I’m about to start an area rug cleaning “business”(as a starting point) in my backyard. However because I am spankin new at this, for now I’ve started collecting thrown out dirty rugs to start cleaning to practice on. I have hand/manual tools, no machines yet. Should I get the round rotary first or the crb first? I’d there a good site to find used machines? Also I’m having issues with finding a good line of products to use. To start with I’ve bought Chempro products. Haven’t used them yet. I did watch your courses by the way, thank you. Which line of product is most flexible, available, and reliable(in Cali)? @carpetcleanertraining80204 ай бұрын
I need more info on what you are referring to with postcards. As far as postage, it will depend on if you are doing bulk mail or EDDM or standard postage. It's best just to take a trip to the local post office with the cards and ask.
@fpvflyer47584 ай бұрын
@@carpetcleanertraining8020 to be honest with you I am a little confused even myself 😂 I have 9 x 6 postcards that I’ll be printing. You’ve generously shared how to get addresses. I guess what I would want to know is what is the cost to mail to the list once I’ve compiled it. How much would it cost per piece? As well, what kind of returns are you getting in terms of number of calls? I’d love to know how many mail pieces you’re sending out and how many calls are coming in as a result of those mail pieces and/or postcards being sent out. Thank you again!!
@carpetcleanertraining80204 ай бұрын
Ok I understand, it really depends on your plan. if you are going to mail post cards to your list of people you have then you will pay .53 cents each. Doing it that way you can do very focused mailings to exactly who you want. If you want to do more mailing like whole zip codes you can get the price down to .20 cents each. That is called every door direct mail EDDM of course that is less focused but will accomplish the same thing, getting your cards out. As far as results that will depend greatly on your post card itself. If it is well done or not but you can usually expect from 0-5% response rate. You will want to test your post cards in small batches before large batches to make sure of your response rate is what you want. You can do this by simply walking small batches to homes or businesses that you are looking to get say 50-100 at a time and log the calls you get. Mailing is fine to spend 53.00 and log your result. keep in mind a 1% return will typically pay for the cards and mailing plus some extra depending on what you are selling. 2 to 3 % is pretty good and 5 would be fantastic. here is the EDDM page for the post office www.usps.com/business/every-door-direct-mail.htm.

Great videos !!! Question : for VLM carpet cleaning , you prefer a standard 175 machine or the ORBIT VIBE type machine ?
@carpetcleanertraining80204 ай бұрын
Well it depends on what you are cleaning. I demo the 175 because most people can afford to start there. All machines will get the job done. Orbital machines work great. For large commercial I prefer a cimex machine for offices I Iike orbitals orbot or Topps machines. 175s are very maneuverable if you are in tight quarters or a smaller orbital.

I'm going to touch on something. That I am shocked you didn't touch on. Or anybody in the comments said anything about. And that is offering to seal the grout joints. After you clean them. Or the slate in the entry. Boy what a choice that was. It looked terrible. And it didn't go with the rest of the flow of the floors. Anyway sealing is so easy and it's a great money maker. But just like you,when you have to use the correct cleaner's to perform your job properly. The same goes with what sealer you use. I have found that only one sealer works on grout joints. But it really works on all stones. Most sealers are called penetrating sealers. Correct ? And they do just that. When applied to a grout joint. All the way down to the slab or subfloor. As the sealer penetrates it leaves traces of sealer behind in the pours of the grout. So now you think it is sealed. Correct ? And it is,kind of. What happens is just after a few weeks of traffic and wet mopping. Those pours in the grout start collecting dirt again. Because after the sealer dried it just left trace's of sealer at the bottom of the pours. So they still fill up with dirt. Well there is ONE sealer that has a polymer in it that fills up and closes all those pours. And NOTHING can penetrate it. NOTHING. For many years I was in the tile and stone industry, in Las Vegas. And I decided I wanted to start a business sealing stones and grout joints. The company I worked for,offered 8 different sealers to our customers. So I started to research each one. And I wasn't impressed with the information they offered. So I decided to do a test with each one. I used 5 different granites, 5 different marbles and 3 different slates. Then I made up a few boards with tile on them and grouted them with white grout. Then I sealed and labeled everything. Then I got everything I could think of to dirty them up. Coffee, tea,oil mixed with grease and dirt. Finger nail polish,lip stick, permanent marker and a few other things I can't remember. I did this on a Friday and let them sit over the weekend . Well all of them failed. But one,and it wasn't even our most expensive. Anyway, for the life of me I can't remember the name of this product. For Christ Sake I use it everyday. I'll get back to you all. SORRY.
This video was for a realtor she was selling the house and just wanted it clean. I always recommend sealing.

With mud, it can depend a little bit on your location and what the mud consists of however, typically let the mud dry. Then vacuum really well to get as much dry soil out as possible. Spray with really any pre. Spray should work, then scrub and extract.

So by your own words there is no extraction. This means ur pad will be clean. Typical steam clean guy.... If your pad is dirty there is extraction.
@carpetcleanertraining80207 ай бұрын
Ok, yes, there will be some soil absorption into the pads used. However, when dealing with encapsulation, the real strength is in the encapsulation of the soil not the removal of it. Sorry, I didn't mean that no soil is being removed, only that it was not the main purpose of that type of cleaning. Thank you for the clarification.
@keithchapman14777 ай бұрын
@carpetcleanertraining8020 i find through ignorance people are very misleading. Many hwe people do not vacuum as a professional, they leave it for whoever. Vlm tend to vacuum knowing the importance. Many people both sides fail to understand chemistry. Hwe guys seem to think they extract off of the soil. Poor vacuum leads to mud. Also not all vlm guys use encap. Either way all products should be a form of encap. Mud turns to crystal.
@carpetcleanertraining80206 ай бұрын
I agree with you. Most cleaners HWE and VLM don't vacuum enough. Of course not all use encap I never said they did but that is what this video is covering. There is a problem in the industry on both sides. VLM has its place as does HWE. Every cleaner should be able to perform both. VLM will void warrantees so HWE needs to be utilized as well. Where as VLM needs to be utilized when dry times are an issue such as many businesses that need things to turn around quickly. Carpet manufacturers need to step into this century as well and approve other styles of cleaning so we are not ham stringed into one method and can be free to use the best method available.
@keithchapman14776 ай бұрын
@carpetcleanertraining8020 disinformation is wrong. Orbot is approved by USA Carpet Industry. This for both commercial and residential. The orbot machines are very expensive, however good. Most Carpet guys have cheap very poor extractor. That includes truck mounted.

If you're using an alkaline prespray, you should irinse with an acidic rinse, not 100% required but it will aid in the rinsing of the prespray out of the fibers. It will also leave the carpet in a softer state upon drying.

@carpetcleanertraining80208 ай бұрын
Always vacuum prior to encapsulation because you're not actually removing the soil you're encapsulating the soil. Any heavy soils need to be removed prior to the cleaning process. You don't need to return to do the vacuuming after.

For commercial believe it or not clean it with an encapsulation product. You will want to spray heavy on the area and also around the area not as heavy just normal around it. Then scrub the heck out of it. I was sceptical of this untill I tested it myself. I have not tried this on residential. For residential I will usually use pros choice gooff but with limited success these adhesives are nasty to get off.

When cleaning upholstery with alot of dog hair other than vacuuming how do you remove the hair before pre spraying and extraction?
@carpetcleanertraining80209 ай бұрын
Oh man I hate dog hair on fabric. There are a few ways such as rubber brushes and things. What works pretty well is a rubber glove. After you vacuum the piece mist it with water and then rub over it with a rubber glove and the hair will tend to bunch together.
