I enjoyed playing his music with my wife and daughter and 3 foster children going to church. None of us cared about our sound but just sang w/out a care. Hold Me Jesus has kept me going since his death. I relate to the battles with life and death. I was blessed to watch the Ragamuffins and yes, it was healing but I certainly missed the voice and character of Rich. Blessings to all of you who posted. I was up late one night in the middle of the night, 14 years old and noticed a Christian music channel on my cable so I decided to see what sort of songs played on it. Rest in peace Rich. Rich was far deeper and more spiritual than any other Christian artist ever! Trust me I know I live in the Franklin Tennessee.

A very underestimated Christian musician. I believe he was so far ahead of his contemporaries at the time. I mean we still sing his music even today. Years after he departed this existence. Now he has joined heavens choir.

I think that, knowing God's love for us, these songs often quote scripture, so to quote the songs, we remember the scripture and also have read it. When words are put to music they are easier to remember and God said He wants us to sing to Him 'a new song', to sing and get closer to Him, it's even written that He sings over us. So for sure, it's a balance. One to rejoice over, that people love the words to the song God put in your heart, it may even inspire them to come to God's house and read the Word. We are to worship in the temple, our bodies are the living temples of God. :)
