Yes, it's doesn't make sense, does it? The ETA was set up by our last government. Most countries now have their own electronic travel authorisation and makes sense in a digital age& the world we live in now. The inflatable dinghies ( Small boats ) are the bone of contention, & being used by different politicial parties to shout at each other, but none of them seem to be doing the sensible thing. Keir Starmer cancelled are only deterrent, the Rwanda programme which was beginning to work... You bet, people here are are very tired of it!!

Etias is planned to launch in mid 2025, no more information has been provided yet so as of right now you don't need anything to enter france

ETA is for entry into the UK & ETIAS to the EU. The UK is not part of the EU. I don't think the ETIAS is needed until mid 2025. It's an Electronic Travel Authorisation.

I applied for the eta from an Apple device and I had no problem, but I saw some people who tried from an Android and could never make the payment

You won't need it until travelling after March 5th when it starts for all EU countries. It is being layed out for different countries at various dates. It will be needed for travel from the US, Canade, Australia & New Zealand and other nations who don't need Visa. This video is very informatative. I recommend sending threw wise or paypal..you can acually send the money from your wise account to your friends bank account

@GoExploreMatt , I dont have a wise account card. She lives in a really bad area. I want something she can have that I can load from here monthly. Would I be able to send her the card by mail. Or are the cards available there and I can get the numbers and pin from her and deposit money to the card

You should use the Pakistani passport page for your ETA application, as that is your nationality

You should be good to go, i would print the acceptance email and bring it with you when traveling to the uk just incase they ask to see it

It's electronic & will show up on entry, but it will be ease of mind to either print of take a picture and save to your phone.

@@opsupreme8146 normally they do a more strict background checks when it comes to visas, ETAs are generally approved much faster & I believe they don't look at every single detail about you
