Why does this motor look different from others I see, I mean a lot of them have the engine shaft directly attached to the prop but this one has a gear of some type? IDKnow much about these & am trying to learn more. Nice looking aircraft. peace

I am seating on a 3" Confor Foam seat cushion, does not compress very much on cold days, I have on a David Clark Head set and still have about a inch between top of head and bottom of wing. I am 6'2" tall.

It does not matter how much torque the engine produces, if you're using the same props. Horsepower is the only thing that matters. If you're getting the same prop rpm as another engine, you're getting the same horsepower. How it gets to the prop might be different but that is irrelevant.
