I'm a little frustrated by a lot of the comments here... I admit I haven't been playing Dead Cells very long but I am passionate about animation and there are way way more negative sentiments than I expected so here's my thoughts on the main things I'm seeing - "The animation isn't as good as the trailers" - It was never gonna be as detailed as the trailers, sorry. This is a whole series, I don't know if they've ever revealed how long the trailers took but they're incredibly high quality and probably took months each for just a few minutes of content. If the whole series looked like that, sure it would be cool, but it would be incredibly expensive and time consuming. According to their linkedin Bobbypills is no larger than 50 employees, animation takes forever even with a large studio! - "The new style looks like a children's cartoon" - I get the impression some of the people complaining about the style are the same group of people that think higher framerate/more detail = better animation. The animation is low framerate, sure, but it's very snappy and high energy. It's clearly made with a lot of knowledge about animation principles, it's the same studio as the trailers after all! Besides, this is nothing new, Bojack Horseman's art style could pass as from a children's cartoon at first but it very much isn't, Cult of the Lamb has a very cutesy style but is about a cult leader and murdering gods. The style doesn't have to "match" the content, stylised =/= childish - "It shouldn't be a comedy" - I dunno, the game has a very dark world but Bobby is pretty silly and light-hearted in his dialogue and body language. This looks about the same to me, dark story and world with comedy in the downtime. It's hard to tell without having the full show - "The story's different/Bobby talks" - This is the one I understand the frustration about the most but adjusting a story and its characters to fit a new medium is nothing new, I get why they didn't want to write a show where one of the leads doesn't talk or only has internal monologues, it's not impossible but it is a lot more challenging. When it comes out watch it while keeping in mind it won't be identical, maybe it'll surprise you! I understand disappointment but I can't see some of the comments as anything but bad faith/blind hate. You're allowed to not like it, you're allowed to criticise it, but at least think and understand what you're criticising and maybe wait until it actually releases! I'm open to having an actual discussion about this with reasons beyond "I don't like it" because that isn't criticism

Ouch…. I… don’t understand why it taking itself so “lightly” i thought deadcells animated series would be very dark and gritty with a bit of dark comedy lik how the lady knight dies. And came back as unded Idk it didn’t felt like the dead cells i know and love. This felt like generic fantasy with deadcells slapped on top of it I’ll give it a try….

Une adaptation qui n'est pas faite par des tâcherons c'est pour moi une victoire. Bien sûr elle trahit l'oeuvre originale du coup, forcement, mais adaptation est trahison et ça a l'air tout sauf degueux donc à voir, je suis curieux.

Cet anime est tellement sous-côté alors que c’est simplement l’un des meilleurs anime sur la famille. J’ai vraiment vu personne en parler alors qu’il est incroyable, c’est criminel qu’un aussi bon anime soit méconnu

On est passé d'un manga stylé qui parle de pirate, à un dessin animé rigolo du type Tex Avery. L'arrivée du Gear 5 a changé quelque chose dans le One Piece qu'on connaissait.
