Nice setup. Somewhat complicated for me but this is what it needs to be done if the process demands it. Not everyone is very fortunate to reside in a soft water region or locality. Can you do a video where you need to mix RO water to tap water ( hard water with 500 ppm in my locality ) in a barrel overnight. A AUTOMATED water change system with a daily 30% water change in the discus tank is what i am looking for. I just cannot figure out how to do it.

Too many points of failure.

I agree in my newest and most recent iteration I eliminated most failure points and ensured the ability to last, be simple, and be easily fixed or replaced. this is my newest video highlighting our updated version. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSzlq1onJitasUsi=FRtHFBr1fE-ptTDJ

Beautiful but complex setup. Discus tank daily water change is a hassle. I have hard water ( 500 ppm plus tds ) in my locality, so RO is mandatory for me as discus are soft water fishes. I need to mix RO water with tap water in ratio of 70: 30 in a barrel and aerate it overnight before water change. Can the process be made a little less complicated?

Hello, I agree, to reduce hassle we use stored tap water for non-breeders and regular fish and only utilize our RO for breeders. As well as I have reduced the complexity in my new most updated system seen here. No more water buckets lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSzlq1onJitasUsi=FRtHFBr1fE-ptTDJ

I know the bottom is dirty but if I try to do anything other than just drain and fill. They eat the babies 😂

I was so mad one time. 🤦🏻‍♀️ learned the hard way that for whatever reason, they ate their fry when the lights were turned out at night so I waited until the were bigger before finally turning it out. Well, they weren’t big enough because they were all eaten by the dad! Jerk! 🤣🤣🤣

Loll, yea it happens😭. I noticed if I keep a nice night light on them 24/7 so they don’t get startled by it turning on and off.

Is there a reason you leave the white eggs? Fungus can spread if not from the unfertilized ones. I had many angels….so much fun. I also kept electric yellows and they are mouth breeders. Fun too!

I use formalin, a type of formaldehyde. It works extremely similar to methylene blue in preventing fungus and bacteria. I feel that disturbing them causes way more disruption and stress than required.
