Still got them! I think it will be a pretty long term relationship -- they've been great 😊

What do you think Rp-504c? ?
@AlexBecka8 ай бұрын
I like it. It's the first Center speaker I've ever had so hard to compare it to other things. I'm trying to listen to whether it sounds like a voice is coming out of a "box" or whether it feels like a person is actually in the room. I feel like it does feel a little boxy though, but I also need to finish doing acoustic treatments on the room which might help out with that a little bit. But it does cross my mind whether I should upgrade to something like the SVS ultra which I hear good things about, or something else. But you know.. money. lol. Current plan is to finish acoustic treatment and then reassess how things sound. Are you thinking of getting it?

You should put some bass in your voice. You'll feel better.

How does it sound debating monolith
@AlexBecka Жыл бұрын
I will say my buddy who’s been in the game for 15 years (from whom I bought two of the monos) looooves the mono, so much that he’s looking to buy it back at some point. This is after he has gone through rhythmic, svs, older PSA models, and some others. Huge box but huge output and deep extension that’s difficult to get from smaller boxes. As for myself I’m too new to the game to think myself qualified to answer the question, nor have I done any proper side by side measurements or listening tests. If you have the room for it though… 😎

PSA? that's a name I've not heard in awhile... i bought in to their lineup when they were still starting out, before they used ICE amps. it really looks like just about everything has changed, other than the truck-bed liner finish, _which i love_
@AlexBecka Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah I don’t mind the finish thought I’ve heard some people not care for as much. Wow you’re OG. Yup Tom Vodhanel is still busy at work!

Is it me or is the video dimmed?

True. It is dimmed; had some premier pro technical difficulties. Damn was hoping you wouldn’t notice

I got rp-8000f + c504 + rp500 sa, for atmos igot 4× pro 180 and the sub is psa v1812 ipal. All running on pioneer vsx-lx504. Have you noticed significant change by adding the amp ?
@AlexBecka Жыл бұрын
I actually didn’t notice that much. With the denon alone, I never really reached distortion levels… All I noticed that led me to get the amp was that when I played media that used the entire Atmos set up, then I would have to turn the volume up, much louder to reach the same sound level as when playing things in stereo configurations. So I thought maybe the Denon was sagging in terms of how much power output it was giving when driving 9 speakers. And that’s why I got the amp. However, I still need to put the volume up higher (like -6 instead of -12) when running Dolby Atmos configuration. So not really sure if the amp did much, although now, I’m definitely not worried about running out of power for my denon lol. My ears are not good enough to pick up sound quality differences either.

Sooooooo', a whole $4,0000.00 projector for a absolute lousy $30.00 bed spread projector screen. Make that make sense. The math ain't mathing, smh'. Just grab a few pair of "Theater Grade" black-out curtains while you're at. They work wonders...

Fixed the screen now! got an elite screen CineWhite material. Much better 😅

Who am I to judge but personally I think those Towers need to toad out a little. Not just for better centre imaging but more importantly for better soundstage imaging. An avid music listener.

Thanks for the thoughts! Once I replace subwoofers with some things slightly smaller, I will play around with toe angles, a bit more

Try not to use white walls forward of where you sit, I did and when I painted it midnight blue massive change. Didn’t realise how much glare was on my ceiling because of the white
@squared80 Жыл бұрын
No mention of acoustic treatments? Probably the most impactful addition you can make; lots of echo in that room. Great decision to add multiple subwoofers!
@AlexBecka Жыл бұрын
Yeah treatments are overdue- thinking of doing GIK acoustics vs maybe some DIY stuff. Mostly leaning on the audioholics series on acoustics for this (15% surface area absorption 15% diffusion?). Let me know if you have any Recs!

A pair of Fleetwood Devilles cost $15,000. For a pair of bookshelf speakers. 10k for a private home theater is smart.

@@Menard892000OK. 1. get a tv. no business having a projector in that room. go ahead and put that 98" TCL on the credit card. 2. acoustic panels. look into it. I can just see that room sounds like shit. absorb all first reflections as much as possible. If yoyre cheap get creative and hang a persian rug on the wall or some hippy crochet quilt shit idk
