To be fair, that Super Aguri was essentially a 2002 Arrows at that point in the season. Pointless comparison, we all know Ide was terrible in F1 but this isn't the video to prove it

Well, he is definitely the worst F1 driver of the century at least. Dude was almost 2 seconds slower than Sato on average (and Sato, although decently quick, ain't Michael Schumacher).
@2K-Tan8 ай бұрын
@@quentinhirschfeld9382 Yeah I'm not saying he's good but the title is kind of stupid in my opinion since it doesn't say "F1" anywhere in it, anyone good enough to get to F1 is certainly not "The worst driver of all time" he just might be the worst F1 driver which is still nothing to scoff at lol. And while Yuji was slow, I have to think either Nikita Mazepin or Lance Stroll would take the "Worst F1 driver of the century" over Yuji but that's just me personally.

I've seen Ide drive in Best Motoring (awesome Japanese car show where they race cars on tracks like Tsukuba) and he isn't that bad. Super Aguri was a crap team back in 2006 and he was already old for an F1 driver (31). Sure, he sucked, but honestly there was a 99% chance he would suck, given the equipment, his age and his inexperience driving F1 cars. Outside of F1, he really isn't a bad racing driver and he has a few wins and podiums in Japan, the most recent win being in 2020.
@eat_my_haas4453 Жыл бұрын
Yes I 100% agree that he isn’t a bad driver overall, but in F1 standards when your competing with the best drivers in the world, he was probably the worst f1 driver of all time… key word worst “F1 driver”
@chanchaniceman7 ай бұрын
He isn’t bad but to be racing at this level and standard,it’s unfortunately bad especially against some of the best drivers in the world. Granted he has a lot of things working against him having a race chassis that is 4 years old,modified to fit a Honda v8 and the 2006 regs. Age being 31 and being inexperienced to work in a different form of single seaters which his boss told the media about it which is incredibly disturbing. Also let’s not forget the dude couldn’t not speak a word of English which further compounds his issues. Not terrible as a race driver but just not cut out for a job at this level

worst example of showing how bad he was, just look at how slippy that Super Aguri is !

I don't think you can compare drivers skills in two very different cars. If you watch Alonso in Minardi at 2001 (compared to Schumacher) we could say he wouldn't win nothing in his carrer...
@prateekgill27 Жыл бұрын
If you see Alonso's Minardi onboards he was punching well above what the car was expected to do, in the words of his team boss, paul stoddart. There's a lap of fernando at indianapolis from a session in which he obliterated jacques villeneuve's (BAR) lap time as well. Plus racing against Benettons at catalunya and against Arrows and BAR at Suzuka wasn't anything less than extraordinary for a minardi.

@F1Krazy Жыл бұрын
it was worse than that. The leaders had done 46 laps and he'd only done 22. Mind you, Al Pease was a 48-year-old privateer who entered that race for the fun of it, back in the days when you could still do that. Yuji Ide was a professional. I'm unsure how fair it is to hold them to the same standard.
