a combination of things cause that: 1. Misaligned media: its not loaded into the machine completely straight. 2. You didn't unwind the back of the roll enough to release tension that causes buckling. 3. heat & humidity is a major factor. 4. cheap vinyl.

1. You have to make sure the roll of material is tight and plum before you feed it in. 2. Feed a good amount of the material. 3. Most important. You need a reference point so you can measure the edge on the front and back of the machine before you clamp down on the material. Make sure you measure from same part of the frame that exist on the front and back of the machine. So you have to take two measurements, when facing the front you measure from that reference point to the edge of the sheet and on the back to the same, measure the reference point to the edge of the sheet. If you don't do this, it will feed crooked.

Where can I find this opotion?

First of all clean up the pinch rollers. Increase the cutting speed to 300 - 400mm/s for large graphics. Advance the vinyl about 20/30cm and set the zero there. The last one is replacing the pinch rollers but this machine is new and I’m pretty sure the problem is not there. They normally lasts for minimum of 2 years everyday 4 hours cutting. But the main thing is - contact Summa support. They’re the best. Hope this helps.

Could be the room temp is a bit low with a low grade vinyl

Run cut order of from right to left, feed forward, then left to right. Minimize the amount of forward and back feeding much as possible. One thing did not like the vertical feed speed is too fast for the amount of forward and back movement. Slow down the vertical feed (NOT THE CUT SPEED) if not able to define a horizontal cut order. Also it isn't necessary to run the pinch rollers on the outer edges of the vinyl. When running a vinyl with a slick backer and/or floor guard laminate/heavy laminate. Find it works better to have the pinch rollers position closer together and in center of the media. Then use load and extend media feature in Summa control panel to define that the media is wider than the two outer pinch rollers.

I have exactly the same problem, but it emerges mainly on cheap material on Summa F160 T also on Mimaki CG Fx 130. It helps a little if you moove all pinch rollers to the left side.

I would bet money it's the vinyl causing the issue.

Hi Ronald. Did you ever get a solution to this? Mine (S2 120 T series) is doing the exact same thing!
