A fabulous album which I listen to almost once or twice a day. I have most of Jackie's albums but this one takes me away on a interstellar trip everytime I listen to it. My wife, who was not a big jazz fan no loves Jackie because of this album. His music has been a gift for me for 65 years now and I am so grateful to him for it all.

Jackie as great as ever - and I love to hear my dear friend Rene taking big steps into the right direction. They don`t tell us the recording date - but it must have been after I met Rene last time as a sideman of Woody Shaw in the early 80s.

It's funny you name yourself Brillhart. I play a Brillhart mouthpiece from 1942.

Ofcause I have to subscribe. First : I am a great admirer of Jackie Macleans playing. And second : I myself play an old Brillhard mouthpiece from 1942.

This is the supreme example of excellence of craft and artistry. Such a rare treat because here is father and son; equals in the music, supporting each other.

Rene McLean on Flute is so good and his alto playing is straight out of his dad's. Jackie's music lives on through his son.

Incredible. What an amazing version of A House Is Not A Home. This album is so hard to find, not on Spotify or iTunes. Where was this performance recorded?

Just bought a used CD of this in excellent condition off eBay from someone in Canada. It's such an incredible album I have to have it. I've been listening to Jackie since the late 50s and IMO next to Bird he's the greatest alto sax jazz musician and composer ever. On top of that he was an incredible human Person. I love the man for giving me such joy all my life.

I had my first listen to Jackie when he was he was coaxed by Max Roach to fill the Alto spot. Mid 60’s. One after the other since the mid 50’s I began to hear all of them. But it was Sid McCoy from whom I was expanded. So, back to Jackie. When I heard him I thought, My God this is perhaps the great one. And that’s difficult, because of Julius Adderly.
