Do you have a video about how to choose a rug hooking frame ? Do you have to have all sizes for the different size projects? I have used a hoop but it is so hard getting it tight where you have hooked already. Thank you for your help.

I’m new to rug hooking. What kind of foundation backing do you use? Does it depend on what the rug will be used for ie rug to walk on or wall hanging, as to which foundation backing you choose? Thank you

On the extra strength formula, did you dye each separately or a yard and a third of each wool all at once. Also, to use 4 cups of boiling water with dye, where do you find cups that big to mix the solution?

I wish the camera angle was one that when you "clipped it" your hand didn't block the view! Also, I really wish the camera was in focus when you were hooking the sharp points of the star. Great, valuable information, just hard to see for beginners like me.

I’m just beginning to think about rug hooking. I have watched many of your videos and find them extremely helpful and interesting. I was prompted to consider rug hooking because I have an old burlap foundation with a floral pattern on it. It was among some items I got from my elderly aunt. She did a little rug hooking. I don’t think I’d be in the market for a cutter. It’s too expensive for a beginner-in my opinion. So, I’ll be purchasing strips from sellers on Etsy. My first problem is not knowing how much to purchase. Is there a rule of thumb as to how much coverage to expect from, say, 100 strips. I realize it’s variable based on how close I hook. But, if a flower is 5”-6”, how many strips should I purchase. I will want to vary colors and sometimes the width of the strips. But, any suggestion to get started?
@w.cushingco.74145 ай бұрын
You will need to know what size strips--#4, 6 or 8 and the length of the strips. we do not measure by # of strips but by folding a piece of material into fours and what you see is the space it will cover. You may want to ask those you are buying the strips from as they may have a better idea --but you need to ask the length of the strip and the width of the strip.
