No other metal drummer plays like Nicko, He is muutally loved and regarded as the most amazing drmmer in rhe workd,no blastbeats,no fawkng splash tree of ltiny, irritating shiny slash cymbals, and he rocks a speed king pedal.

is it the camera's angle or he's just sitting really close to the ground? Both his knees must hurt like crazy after the show

I could just listen to the drums on this. As much as I like Maiden this track never really did it for me.

The master of making the drums track have a life of its own and not just be a rhythm filler. The whole thing perfectly marries the solos and verses, beautiful.

It's funny, you learn all about the ergonomics of drumming....keep the snare around belt high, relatively low angle, keep your knees below your waist, cymbal height, placement, etc... Then Nicko McBrain says "or you could just do what you like and be one of the best drummers ever" hehe.

The audible vocal sounding out while playing is almost a tick, I do it too… I can’t control it, it’s been something of a hindering effect when I record & I get mocked mercilessly for it

He is like Lars in the way that they forget most of their parts, so they improvise instead, nothing against Nicko, just bad memory. I like 7th son cd and everything maiden did before that, you couldn't come up with better drum parts for those songs,he is probably my biggest influence

@@hugolafhugolaf That isn’t the point. The material he played on didn’t call for acrobatics. But, for me, from British Steel thru Screaming For Vengeance he was as solid as they came. Further, I don’t consider him, specifically, as a “Heavy Metal drummer”, unlike his successor. That’s what set the band apart during that 3-album run.
