The Bible appears more to whisper on cremation compared to its shouts about burial.

My severe depression was caused by four foods: eggs, turkey, milk, and sunflower seeds. Eggs also gave me asthma attacks, while sunflower seeds also gave me severe back spasms. As long as I avoided these I was fine. One slip and it was three days of torture. I was cured with antibiotics. Now I can eat whatever I want.

I agree with you. My parents were cremated and I regret it. Might not bother most but it did me.

J.D. thank you so much for being sensitive to this reality for Christians. I am currently struggling with depression that is unexplainable and defeating. I would encourage anyone dealing with anxiety and depression to reach out for help. Don’t suffer silently. God sees you and loves you and surrounds you with his promises and his people who care. There is hope and help.

I was completely cured of severe depression thanks to a Chinese doctor. She first asked me about my diet. I told her that I knew that five foods were behind the depression. I also told her that eggs gave me severe asthma attacks, and that this had never happened before. With the last statement she gave me three courses of antibiotics. She told me that I had bad gut bacteria that needed to be killed. I took them and three days later was completely free of depression.

One thing: you did not address the place of personal sin in feeding depression.

He actually did when he addressed idolatry.

I don't know about personal sin, but I was cured of severe depression with antibiotics. I dared not bother with Christian counselors. I knew they weren't competent to treat it.

Wow this is excellent! Growing up in India, the connection to Hinduism was very obvious to me as we lived just up the hill from a Hindu cemetery. Watching the burning bodies and all that went with that made me certain that this was not what I wanted. Apparently in that nation, if you are a Christian, you would never be cremated, because that would be a sure sign that you were going back to Hinduism! Thank you, JD for addressing this very important issue!

When Yoga was mentioned along the timeline of 13:39, it was not expounded on. Can you give me a summarization of your stance on the practice of Yoga for Christians? Thanks.

I bought a study Bible in December and started a rich study time every single morning. The house is quiet and it's just me and Jesus. I brew a cup of coffee and sit with my Bible and a box of tissues. I've broken the Bible into 4 sections: the OT, Books of Wisdom, Gospel, and NT. Then I created a bookmark for each section that lists the individual books and each chapter is numbered. Before I start reading I pray for guidance in the reading and over the coffee I'm sharing with Jesus. I read the notes for the chapter first then I grab my highlighter and post-its and start reading. I also have a notepad next to me for anything I need to research later. The Holy. Spirit wakes me up around 5am so I'm able to dedicate quite a bit of time to reading. Side note: my children are grown adults. If I were younger with kids still needing my attention I couldn't dedicate quite so much time to the Lord in the morning. I find it's a privilege and joy to start my day with the Lord. As a natural born list maker I also enjoy seeing the chapter numbers marked off on the bookmarks. My biggest problem is the highlighter. The Bible is so full of wisdom that everything looks marked up and post-its are poking out everywhere! I suppose when I'm through reading the Bible all the way through in a few months I'll just buy another and start all over. My biggest regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I told my DiL that reading the Bible like this is like a connect-the-dots. I have so many a-ha moments each day.

Fair response. I’m a father and grandfather of Swifties. - both of whom love the Lord! I do however find it odd when conservative Christians who support Trump complain about T Swift and her fans devotion. Talk about idolatry and support of a hateful, sinful, unChristian man…
