I'd also like to know if it leaves lap lines please.
@fiddesaustralia60494 ай бұрын
Hi there. If applied correctly the stain should not leave any lap lines. We recommend applying our Light Fast Water stain with a sponge, cloth or sponge applicator.

So, for furniture if you are using white as an 'undercoat', you'd brush or roll on then buff off with a cloth by hand, not by orbital sander /polisher? Thanks
@fiddesaustralia60494 ай бұрын
Correct! For furniture we recommend to brush or roll the Tinted Hard Wax Oil and then using a rag, buff into the surface ensuring the entire surface has been covered.

Awesome product. We have completed one room with the Fiddes Matt hard wax. Love the results, no smell and brings out the natural beauty of the timber. Will be redoing the whole house floorboards.

Hey - I am hoping someone can help me with this - I have watched multiple videos on the Fiddes hard wax oil. Do I need to wipe off the excess with a microfibre lint free cloth after application ? Some videos do wipe off - but other videos do not mention this step. I have bought the Fiddes and I am just about to start sanding worktops. Many thanks for any help you can give.
@fiddesaustralia604911 ай бұрын
Hi there! No you definitely don’t need to wipe off the coating after applying. Just roll or brush on then leave to dry before de nibbing and applying the second coat. Once it’s dry you can use the object however fully cured after 7 days and will get harder every day! If you have any further questions feel free to email or call us tomorrow when we re open. Best of luck with your project!

How often is rejuvenation required? Is it only after surface marking (water rings, light scratches, or heat staining)?
@fiddesaustralia60494 ай бұрын
Hi there. Rejuvenation on a dining table is defiantly determined by the usage of the table, if you have kids who are using it day in day out, doing homework on the table, etc, you might need to rejuvenate more often, sitting around the 5-7 year mark. If your table is less used you may get 12 - 15 years out of it before rejuvenation is needed. If you have surface scratches though that you'd like to remove you can defiantly spot repair that section prior to these times frames. Under no circumstance use bleach, ammonia or caustic based cleaners to clean your table, it is also important to not use citrus or eucalyptus-based cleaning products. These products will strip or weaken the coating and could cause colour distortion and reduce the durability and stain resistance, meaning you'll have to recoat much more earlier.

Oh, so I've been using this wrong. We use gallon cans so this isn't ideal for us. Would have to get a quart can, fill it from the gallon can then use this method. Meh. I'll keep looking.
@fiddesaustralia6049 Жыл бұрын
Hi, Thankyou for your comment! We have a stoploss filler and adaptor set available which will assist with using different size cans/funnels. Alternatively you can pour your product slowly into the funnel without attaching the can directly to the top.

Does the clear hard wax oil need buffing?
@fiddesaustralia60494 ай бұрын
No need to buff in clear Hard Wax Oil!
@kingmonkeyno13 жыл бұрын
Can the clear hardwax oil be buffed in, in the same way?
@fiddesaustralia604911 ай бұрын
No we prefer you to roll or brush on the clear. The tinted wax has a slightly different formula allowing it to be buffed. Sorry for the late reply!😊

You don’t wipe it off? Is it the same for applying to doors?
@fiddesaustralia60494 жыл бұрын
If you want a strong bold colour you would leave it as is. If you want a softer colour you can wipe off. Yes it can be applied to any timber surface.

Depends on the look you are going for. You can either leave it if you need the colour dark or can do the wipe on/wipe off method if you want a softer colour.

Ive tried rolling the tinted oil. I think its too much color. How much do you dilute?
@fiddesaustralia60494 жыл бұрын
You can mix the tinted hardwax oil with the clear to dilute and this will make it easier to roll also.
