Read John Crawley’s book the Yank, where it is very clear that this operation was compromised by a famous and self-serving informer. And no, it hardly made a noticeable dent in the acquisition of weapons for the IRA.

@@Horizon344 It really isn’t, I’ve been following the court case of soldier F and European courts are presenting a strong case for a conviction. It’s not just Bloody Sunday though, it’s the huge amount of collusion between the loyalist paramilitaries and British military that’s shameful and led to so many innocent civilians being murdered. Just look at the Pat Finuncane case. I say the same when the IRA murder innocent civilians by the way, there was no winners in the troubles and the ones who suffered the most are usually normal working class civilians.
@Horizon3443 жыл бұрын
@@nervesinapattern7261 Finucane was a PIRA lawyer who made himself a target by taking sides in a vicious paramilitary war. What happened to him shouldn't have happened, but as the saying goes, "when you lie with dogs you get fleas". My own Grandmother and Great Grandmother were from Fenit, and my Grandmother, Kathleen Brosnan, was born and bred in Fenit and was a cousin of Martin Ferris. She moved to Bradford, in England, with my Grandfather in the fifties. She passed away in the sixties, aged just 29 years old, after rearing five children and then contracting breast cancer. My Mother misses her terribly, still. We vmdont revisit Kerry anywhere near as much as we ought to, but my Great Uncle, Patrick Brosnan and his wife and adult children have all moved back home now so we have even more reason to get home more often. We miss home.
