Damon, and Elena have always had the most beautiful chemistry, understanding, and friendship I have ever seen. Damon, was very closed off from everyone else but when he was with Elena he openly spoke about how Katherine treated him and even though he didn’t trust anyone that easy he trusted Elena and she trusted him. Like Elena said Damon was dangerous but not in a way that it scared her but she felt comfortable being around him. To me delena was always meant to be since the beginning of the vampire diaries season one episode one pilot. She denied that she had feelings for Damon because she didn’t want to hurt Stefan’s feelings but when she became a vampire those feelings magnified. Rose also told Jeremy in Season 3 episode 19 Heart of darkness Stefan, is different his love is pure he’ll always be good for her Damon, is either the best thing for her or the worst. Rose about Damon, and Elena’s relationship. While she told Alaric to erase her memory of Damon Elena also said that Damon gave her the necklace that resembled her feelings for Stefan I know it hurt him but he did it and in that moment I loved him it was the most selfless he’s ever been.

No offense to you Stelena, shippers but to be honest I love Damon and Elena always and forever delena. Damon, might not have done things properly for Elena to see improvement in his personality but she accepted who Damon truly is and that’s what love is all about coming to terms with what you know about that person. Damon might have killed people but so did Stefan. Damon might not have been the perfect boyfriend like Stefan was but he was trying to do the right thing for Elena at the time of the sire bond but when Elena was compelled by Rebekah Mikealson, to say how she truly felt about Damon she didn’t hesitate not one bit and I was actually happy that Damon and Elena got their happy ending Damon was worried that Elena was going to go back to Stefan because of the visions they were having due to the universe and Elena reassured him that they are going to be okay.
