King Robert surname is Baratheon and he is the King of the Seven Kingdoms ..Ned Stark is the Warden of the North and the Lord of Winterfell .. there are other Wardens and even more Lords .. Stark is also a house as is Baratheon, Lannister, Targaryen.. there are many houses and each house has a saying or motto and a banner .. the starks motto is Winter Is Coming and their banner has a Dire Wolf. the Baratheons have a Stag and the Lannisters have a Lion. There are many other houses which you will meet. There is a no spoiler map available online so that might help. KIng Robert is the one who has put the crown into debt and he is married to Cercei Lannister, she has two brothers ..Tyrion and Jaime .. Jaime is her twin. Benjen Stark ( first ranger for the nightswatch ) is Ned Stark's younger brother and Jon Snow is Ned's illegitmate son. Only first born sons inherit lands, castles and titles. It's a lot to take in and a lot is going on so don't feel bad if you're not getting it all.. I didn't and have watched a few times and still missed things .. the title of each episode is used or said in the episode and sometimes means more than one thing .. this episode was called Lord Snow .. Aliser Thorne is mocking Jon because he comes from winterfell but is a bastard and can't be a lord..Snow is the surname given to all bastards born in the north .. each area has it's own default surname .. the first episode is called Winter is Coming because winter is coming and also it's the motto of House Stark. hope this helps my sweet summer child haha
