The key is in understanding that the woman from 73 Yards used a perception filter. That leads us to who she is. I think the woman who was using, and that 73 yards has now been established as the effective range of a perception filter. That is (presumably) Gallifreyan tech. What if the woman in 73 yards was Mrs. Flood? Wouldn't that tag her as Gallifreyan? That, the fact that she's been cosplaying companions is meaningful. There was one Gallifreyan who cosplayed companions...the companion was Melanie Bush (recently reintroduced at this particular time, BTW), and it was the Rani who impersonated her. Flood is the Rani, and the Rani used the perception filter to save the Doctor so she could have the satisfaction of springing her revenge on him herself at her own time. Voila!

I`ve also never up to now seen Tales of the Tardis. I agreed with eveything that was said. And like I wrote on another fan based video. How about all that snow if Ruby and her mother are just ordinary ??? Why did she seem so mysterious and leading you to expect her being supernaturel or alien maybe a Time Lord ??? Would an ordinary person wear that outfit ? Why if she was alone and couldn`t see the Doctor was she pointing at a road sign that wasn`t there in the earlier episode ? To be honest, I've never watched Tales of the Tardis, but still got a lot of enjoyment out of the memory tardis. seeing all the different aspects of all the past drs was geniunely so cool on its own

Totally unnecessary explanation in this video. A TARDIS can look like anything, not just a police box. Mrs. Flood doesn't recognize it as a TARDIS at first, so she blames Abdul. She is shocked when it dematerializes, but that's when she realizes what it is. And later we see her behavior with her new knowledge. It's not 3 Mrs. Floods, just Mrs. Flood at 3 points in time as her understanding has evolved.

Timeless child works. I don't know why everyone hates the timeless child. It gives depth to the character. That was not previously explored. As bi regeneration adds to the possibility of Susan being a doctor. Especially since his past memories being erased. When she bi regenerated she would not remember it. Gallefrey has never been kind to the doctor in any version. They probably told them she was his granddaughter. However they didn't think he would ever steal a tardis. They wanted them to remain on galafrey. So they could continue to steal regeneration from them. I think the timeless child is the original form. However They were scared of her. So probably in some pocket dimension. The original timeless child is being held captive. Probably beating her way through a diamond. They never revealed how many times she was forced to regenerate nor how those regeneration happened or the results of each one.

Anyone would be shocked to see the TARDIS even if they had seen it before. No one would think they would be lucky enough to see it again. Who knows this may have been a happy shock. Doesn't explain why she acted like she didn't know it before. But she may have just been acting like she didn't know for some reason, or never expected to see it so didn't recognize it until it dematerialized .... So many red herrings this season. Sure has got us talking regardless

Hey, great video! My feeling is that the Meta-Crisis Doctor becoming the Valeyard working well, is predicated on what becomes of Rose. One big effect this would have is reverting Rose's happy ending of a life with the Doctor to a very tragic one, to see the person she loves turn to darkness, worse still is that a big influence that could cause this in common writing tropes is "The Death of Rose Tyler" which sounds amazing and climactic but comes at the expense of yet another female character being killed off just to further an ostensibly male characters' story and we need to be mindful of that. What could work is if the Meta-crisis Doctor turns and either she meets and eventually settles down with one of the two Bi-Generation Doctors, which would be a nice resolution regardless of whatever people think of Rose herself, or she decides to stay away from Time Lords altogether and continues to play a part in saving the universe, opening up some additional adventures on tv or with some Big Finish audioplays. Overall I'd like to go by the show definition of "Between the 12th and final incarnations" definition over the novels', as it gives more leeway for really any actor to step into the role when the time is right, and allow for a natural origin story that doesn't get "tacked on" to an existing Doctor's story. Still, I think it's a great jumping off point, as a "Dark Dimension" version of events was a comic series I conceived where Eleven dies at Trenzalore out of the spite of the Time Lords refusing to rez him in a parallel universe, the universe becomes a mess and the Shadow Proclamation has to resort to resurrecting The Doctor using a kind of scientific necromancy or magic of the Sisterhood of Karn (which makes them a bit twisted in the process), and the Valeyard therefore hates all Time Lords but despises other versions of themselves most of all, would be a way to expand the universe and explain why the Valeyard is so hostile towards "himself". It would be almost unthinkable to create a "Dark" version of The Doctor as it runs counter to who they are (and the War Doctor is a case in point of this in-universe), until we're reminded that the Valeyard is a thing! I've always been fascinated by this character, and apart from our first female actor as The Doctor and some wonderful history episodes I was disappointed with how the sci-fi elements were handled by Chibnall so glad it didn't come up now, but that means there's great hope that it will be done justice someday by RTD or someone else :)

Seen since season one reboot and some classics. Im not execited but i hope my feelings are wroung as since 13th doctor the writing has been unwatchable. The 12 th doctor first season of him was good and the last was very good in between not so good. Not blaming the acrors just writers and director. I think the female doctor wasnt given much to work with and didnt let her own thing as the doctor when it came to acting but the master with the 13th doc was the best of the reboot

Another question that still needs an in-universe explanation is why the Thirteenth Doctor's costume changed during the regeneration when it hasn't happened since the First Doctor's regeneration. All of the other regenerations have the new Doctor in their predecessor's clothes.

A big issue with this is that the Great Intelligence refers to "the Valeyard" as a name the Doctor *will* have at some point post-Name of the Doctor. I suppose it's possible that he's simply mistaken, but nothing within the episode suggests that.

I would have had tennant regenerate as normal however instead of the stupid split, I'd have done the meeting up with past doctors like jodie's doctor did, talked about the past and then cuti enter telling him it was going to be fine, they both step out but later 14 vanishes and ncuti takes off in the tardis

I do believe the 11th was trying to extend/find a way to regenerate again and what he did somehow split off a piece of himself, the worst of himself. Like it’s always been wanting to break away from the Doctor but only could do it when it had the chance. I believe the dreamlord is before he breaks off of the doctor and when he finally does he starts going by the Valeyard since he is now sorta his own person, still not fully forming a body and that’s why he can just teleport

I love this theory however the only issue I see is...There are roughly 10 regenerations and the fugitive doctor (If I remember rightly) before William Hartnell (The 1st Doctor). Due to the Timeless child story arc and Chibnal canonising some timelords shown on a screen in a classic who episode as past regenerations of the doctor and not just random timelords as originally intended.

i was literally just thinking of this the other day. i think it could be cool to connect the metacrisis and valeyard plots together itd be very seemless, but i also dont see how theyd implement that into a new story going foward. im afraid its prob just be something they could do in audiodramas or comicss

I liked Donna getting her memories back, and I liked the 14th staying with Donna and her family, but he shouldn't have got his own tardis. He should be living a quiet life with Donna and her family to recover from the stress of 13 series of adventures, and then after this long holiday regenerate properly into the more carefree 15th doctor. This semi-retirement seems fitting after the Toymaker rehashed the doctor's past traumas and with 14 looking much older than 10. Giving 14 a tardis also makes the adventures of the 15th Doctor feel less special and harder to get invested in, as well as ruining the tenth Doctor's regeneration.

Rose Tyler should have died when she came back in Journey's End. Her actions in The Parting Of The Ways showed she'd rather die than live without the Doctor. When she settled for the metacrisis doctor it felt out of character and unsatisfying because part of what made her love the doctor in the first place was that she could make him less lonely and help him heal from the time war. Rose can't do that if she's stuck in the parallel universe with the metacrisis doctor. I imagine she is always wondering and worrying about whether the original doctor is alright without her to hold his hand, so can never fully give herself to life with the metacrisis. I find her ending sad, but not in a tragic cathartic way like Adric or Missy's death, just in a depressing way.

Why would the other bi-generation create whole other universes? The bi-generation we saw didn't create a new universe, so clearly that's not part of the process.

I'm guessing Osgood ended up leaving UNIT for pastures new. Though it'd be nice to see her again.
