People saying demons ….. really don’t understand, the amount of creative intelligence, as well as emotional intelligence people have can lead them down a negative thought train, that needs slowing down/blanking out. Drink and drugs are not the right things, but very unfortunately they work better than anything (short term) short term solution to a long term problem, but it gets you through a day.

The sound is way better than on the final album, who has a catastrophic production. Not because it is harsch or necro... but because it is badly done. This warm, natural, dirty sound like DARKTHRONE here, is so superior,...

Cool, now I don't have to pull out 4 vinyl records, a book, and a poster from the box-set to get to the cassette, and play this. I'd rather take care of that tape, and listen to its contents here.

I think it's interesting that this album has such a raw "necro" sound, but it also kinda ruins it. Lots of beautiful melodies that are hard to listen to. You'll get tinnitus even at low volumes. The opposite is Dimmu's Stormblåst, which sound as soft as a pillow.
@atides33

I believe they did that on purpose because some people complained their debut was too "pretty", or well produced, or whatever bs complaints, so they said "you want true BM? Here ya go, and it's better than any other BM you ever heard, but good luck trying to listen, now fuck off we'll do whatever the fuck we want".

Maybe my ears are just shot from all the raw d-beat and power electronics bands I've listened to, but I feel like the album's guitar tones are beyond effective -- I'd even go as far as to say it's the PERFECT tone as far as the "fingermoving riffs" style of black metal goes. Every note is as sharp as a knife, even the most beautiful and pretty melodies feel unrelentingly aggressive and savage with that tone You can hear how ridiculously aggressive the tone is in how, before multiple songs, the incidental noise of the guitar sounds like a heavyas shovel being dragged on concrete That is a special guitar sound imo, and for "pretty" black metal it perfectly bridges it with the more aggressive stuff

It’s underrated no doubt, up their with graham coxens solo record. As a forest record it’s an amazing bag of ideas (most songs) but the more finished songs are absolutely beautiful. Couldn’t think of a better producer for that job 👌 good call

How many songs have you written mate? Could you get paid an enormous amount of money to reform an old band and do one performance for that cash? Pete is a very talented man who had drugs problems, I listened to his new stuff with Fredric Lo and it is really very good. It is eassy to criticise, but where are your talents?

Thanks for this upload. Surprised there's no comments. This is weird with Coxon as I remember some French show telling Peter obviously after this that Graham had referred to him as 'as a worthless junkie' Peter pulled off 'surprised but not bothered' look really well but you could tell it hurt him. I wonder if something was lost in translation or was there a story of a fall out after?🤔 this just brought it back to me. 2022 now, Peter off the gear, married and still making music. Love to see it.

@@SlavicRusa Yeah, that's where I'm confused..I'm a diehard Libs/Peter fan and I know Coxon worked with him on his first 'solo' album. I actually tried to find out afterwards but there seems to be no mention of it..(the French TV show where its said to him is definitely still up though..he was with the 'shambles at the time) kinda weird coming from a man that played on a song called "beetlebum" too...the English press especially treated Peter terribly..like far beyond being nasty..paying ppl to set him up and shit. I know he didn't help himself, but can you imagine that sort of shit going on now during this golden age of the 'mental health' get out clause..Peter (as I'm sure you know may have destroyed his mind and body for a long time but the eyes never lie and you could tell those digs hurt him) anyway it's great to see him return to form and some normalcy..will never not respect the man for his art
