It's a lever gun... It's typical to drop gun before ejecting spent shell then sending a new one into chamber. Otherwise the rear of bolt hits you in the forehead when it clears hammer...

Yes, this thing is definitely still from the 70's, but for what it is you can't really ask for more. She's definitely a bit chunky compared to most modern SMG's 🤣.
