I don't know if this is not common knowledge, but the ds lite (the one i had) is backwards compatible with gba and gbc i dont know if with normal gb so there is the thing

I swear to god on the original DS (the one in video) I was able to play GB/GBC games on it. I would shove the games in as hard as I could and then slightly wiggle them a little loose and BAM my games would play. This unfortunately didn’t work on the lite model. None of my friends at school believed me until one day I showed them how I play Pokemon Yellow on the DS and Super Mario land 2.

I wonder what made running GBA games on the DS different. There were some games that would break when played on a DS instead of a GBA. The woodman scenario from Megaman battle network 4 was the one I experienced the game would freeze and would only work on a GBA.

lol I used an Xacto knife to trim the corner of my Pokemon Blue cartridge down so that it would fit in the DS. I was very sad with the results.

The Gameboy color had Gameboy hardware in it that was switched over to when an original Gameboy cartridge was used, similarly to how the gba handled gbc and gb games. But then there's the ds, which ONLY has gba hardware, which precludes the og additions. So it only supports gba games. AND the accessories that slot into it, likely through a similar systdm
