hey im a noob when it comes to cars so is more top speed better? i dont see why i shouldnt just increase my top speed to as high as possible since its just going to make my car faster

Not necessarily, highest speed decreases acceleration. If you put top speed all the way up it would take forever to reach it.

Through I would comment as GT 7 has just came out. I tried this method and it seems to work pretty well for GT 7 as well.

Came here looking for exactly this. I did my first daily race at High Speed ring and didn't do well but after a bit of tweaking, I got my best qualification lap time down to about 1:38 and some change. I think I can lower my lap times by messing with the gear ratios, but I know nothing about them lol.

Hi I'm new to this game, and ur the first I've seen on KZbin that explains my style of setting gears for maximum speed. Then tune car for stability n traction for corners on a track. As u mentioned in video I will look for ur other videos for other settings. It makes a change to find someone who is willing to help learning how to set up a car for racing. Thank you for this video.

look for tidgney bro hes ex gt champ was in the gran turismo tv show. he got videos on his page that will help you big time. its like a gt school. worked for me. i got a cuple races up on youtube. just noob ones. clean racing tho

TRANSMISSION: 1. Set final gear to the middle 2. Set Top Speed to the middle 3. Slide 6th gear all the way to the right. 4. Slide 2nd gear all the way to the left. 5. Check the other gears to make sure they aren't too out of line/whack with other gears. Make them equivalent. 6. Test car out on the track to see if car needs more or less speed. 7. Repeat process if you need to adjust your Top Speed. FINAL GEAR: INCREASE: Tracks with a lot of sharp turns. DECREASE: Tracks with more long fast turns.

tbh, i use default setting on everything... i tried to use custom of my own and youtube versions... but after testing... it seems default gear setting is best for me...

And how should I change it accordingly to what track I'm at and car etc. I can look at other videos but this tutorial defeats the purpose of actually being a tutorial and just telling you what to do. Noice, my best is 5:38. I see your lower gears are a lot longer than default which is something I didn't change. Can I ask, have you hot-lapped Nordschleife in any Gr.1 cars for comparison?
