Girlcheck, thank you for your comment. It was actually one of our technicians that let us know that they are. Cicadas are actually a friend to the Earth and an important part of the ecosystem that feeds nearly all parts of it in one way or another. Just like the boy who ate fried worms, why not give it a try? Who knows, they might taste just like 'Chicken"

Thanks for the comment. I suppose when it comes to spiders you are very correct. We certainly are the nemesis of spiders such as Black Widows and Brown Recluse Spiders throughout the Greater St. Louis Region in MO.

Thank you for accepting Mother Nature and Not destroying the poor little guy. I had a similar experience. My wife called me from work there was a little fella like that flying around the old office and I did what you did. Captured and let it go. Was a hero of the office that day lol 😆

Well said! Very glad to hear about that. Bat's are a very important part of the Missouri Eco System. While they do not belong in your home's attic or trees, they do belong in nature, playing their role as natural mosquito killers among other things. Hero indeed.

I had these in Maryland. We somehow got them from Ocean City and they began small, and it took two years to remove them! They infested so much of my room and living room furniture I just dumped it all out. We heated and froze them for weeks on end and nothing worked. When they are deep in the bed, just toss it out and replace your stuff, even clothes. They become resistant to chemicals after a while as well, they are a pain in the butt to eliminate. It’s traumatic even to this day and it’s been 10 years!
