I watched it live on TV with my Dad back in the day ! Even my Dad was “ wowed” by Michael he was so fabulous! My Dad cane from the big band era … he said he was probably one of if not the most talented “singer and dancer ever “ in one package!

Not trying to take away from MJ but does anyone else think he might be lip-syncing this performance? Unless he does what ventriloquists do by making sounds for certain syllables in an alternative way from the more common natural way most people use, his lips don't look like they're closing all the way for b, p, and m sounds. Or is lip-syncing normal for this type of music performance?

I will NEVER forget seeing this as it happened in 1983! I was 12, and it was EPIC! The next day at school, everyone was trying to emulate the moonwalk! We only had one kid who could do it, and he became the most popular kid in school! RIP, MJ! You are missed.

What i found more insane in this performance, is the fact of how similiar to the studio version his voice is It looks like he is using playback of so similar this is, but you can see that he isn't

Michael sure was one of a kind. Original, unique, groundbreaking, a consummate artist. What a tragedy behind the prodigious talent. What a loss to the world. I watch this video whenever I need to remember what real talent looks like and I'm blown away all over again. RIP Michael ❤❤

Born fabulous! It does hurt that he is lost to criminally profound incompetence. Some people cannot be punished hard enough. It brings up a feeling like going to a hair salon that uses their recommended products that bring life threatening damage to you then blame you because you asked for it. Please stop since you really have no idea what is what.

THAT WAS EPIC . I remember as a kid watching this , and I was absolutely mesmerized......I'm not exaggerating , THE ENTIRE WORLD WENT MICHAEL JACKSON after that performance. SUPER STARS , MOVIE STARS AND ROCK MUSICIANS, WERE IN COMPLETE AWE , it's a shame too , because EVEN MICHAEL WAS NOT READY TO BE THAT BIG OF A SUPER STAR . he was not normal after that . If he walked down the street , HE CAUSED AN OUT BREAK OF FANS , THATS WHY HE LEAD A SHELTERED LIFE , he longed to be just normal ........BUT HE WAS A BAD MOFO😎

He actually copied the moonwalk and a few other moves from an old tap dancer named Bill Bailey. Or maybe MJ was a reincarnation of Bailey. They were both so light on their feet
