Catalpa tree stumps if left there will last a very long time. There is an unofficial competition between an Oak stump and a Catalpa stump that were cut down in 2007 and neither one has yet to give...and the Catalpa is hollow.

We use to have tons of catalpha trees at my parents farm, all gone now and haven’t seen a catalpha tree for years. In the summer months they have big leaves and would have tons of worms on them, people always use to stop by and take a bucket of worms for fishing. Good work on the grind!

Now I have to Google that tree and see what it looked like.
