This is the review that convinced me to purchase this lens. Well done. It’s an amazing piece of kit. Yes, a bit spendy & specialised…but amazing nonetheless. Sure, one can stitch together a pano using other lenses…but movement can ruin that. The 17mm TSE can get very wide as well, but it’s MUCH slower to use and not quite as versatile for ME. YMMV

I shoot for a band. There is no pit or three song limitation. For me that means a lot of freedom, but in other ways it makes it difficult. Many times, because of the layout of the venue, I cannot get close to the stage. So I have been hampered by having "only" a 70-200mm F2.8 lens. I have been looking at buying a 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 lens. Modern cameras handle very high ISO so well these days that a two stop slower lens isn't much of a problem.

Nervous about a camera nosedive. I wish Lee had a lens hood that would cover the filters from stray light.

Jerzy, good to see you producing videos again! What camera are you using these days…1DX mark 2 or mark 3? Great work and instruction as always. Take care and keep producing.

13:20 I agree on the wide angle, but it's a shame to block out the drummer. Just a tad to one side and the other 3 members will soon enough align so you can get the whole band. Enjoyed the vid :)

Great video. Thanks for sharing. You have about $20,000.00 in gear in your bag, have you made enough in photography to pay it off? I'm just starting out and want to get some the equipment you have, but I'm not sure if the return is worth it. I'm doing it as a hobby, seems like this is your job, is there enough business out there to warrant that much gear? Thanks!
@JerzyBin5 жыл бұрын
well, as a hobby... it will take some time to pay off, and especially with concert shootings nowadays. However my shootings I did paid off
@trekkeruss2 жыл бұрын
There is no money in being a concert photographer; that is why everyone is a wedding photographer. If you are doing it just for the fun of it, and not often, you might consider renting equipment.

Witaj Jerzy. Pare lat temu zagladnalem na Twoj KZbin Kanal I spodobaly mi sie Twoje widea. Duze sie od nich nauczylem, szczegolnie ogladajac serie Shooting With Jerzy. Pozdrowienia z Kanady.

Jerzy. Just came across your video. One of the best examples of how to use ND Grad, ND & Polariser together to slow your shutter speed down I have come across on KZbin. You are probably ages with myself and it's good to see someone who is able to do the proper exposure calculation mentally without needing to resort to a mobile phone app. You only get to this stage when you truly understand the relationship between ISO, Aperture & Shutter speed. Being brought up on film, these were the basics (together with manual focusing,) that every beginner had to learn. Excellent tutorial video.

The finest review video on KZbin channel..a much deserved and respectful way of reviewing a masterpiece. Far better than other review channels using cheap and poor humor to make their content popular to attract more Subscribers. Respect and heartfelt thanks from India !! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Mr. Jerzy Bin ! :)

it was a very good video. usually we have people discussing behind a desk but here we can follow you, understanding what a concert photographer is confronted to, and how to react to different situations and optimize the quality of our shots, of the emotions we collect etc. It was a really good immersion into what concert photography is. I'm happy to see I got a few tips right on my recent concert photography debut... and I also feel less lonely knowing I'm not the one forgeting to take the lens cap off! That last one was very comforting ^^! Much Thanks!

I shoot in places with a lot less light than this. Think close to a few lamps equivalent. I try to shoot 1600-3200 f2.8 1/ 200 but it is always to dark. So I watch meter and turn dial until it's light enough. But now am at 1/30 or less. Or I have to go up to 6400 or higher and extremely grainy. What am I doing wrong to get nice clean non blurry shots
