Hi Josiah, really helpful video! I will be attending UCI this fall and I have 1 questions they are pretty important for me to decide which dorm I would choose The problem is that I saw that mesa doesn't have an air conditioner. Is the room temp cool in mesa? Cuz I really need nice and cool nighttime. Thx if u can reply to me, thumbs up!

Hey what did you end up picking and what are your thoughts so far?
@SushiMuncher2 жыл бұрын
@@crooshed69420 middle earth, it’s nice being close to my classes. Additionally Im also close to the Anteater Recreational Center and also to the ACC apartments. I walk to those places almost daily and I can’t imagine walking from Mesa 💀 Also Brandywine gives you more food options than Anteatery so that’s a plus! I personally know a stem major who shifted from Mesa to Middle because their classes were too far dor them and I also know of a pol sci major who moved to Middle Earth because it was close to Brandywine, ARC, and the ACC apartments. Honestly no matter where you live, your experience will depend entirely on how you decide to make it. A supporting point for Mesa is that it’s closer to UTC than Middle but not by much.
@crooshed694202 жыл бұрын
@@SushiMuncher Is the Anteater Recreational Center the new gym that was built near/for middle earth? Also how do the bathrooms work for middle earth because I heard that mesa people had like their own bathrooms and supposedly that their dorms were a bit bigger.

@@crooshed69420Na that's pippins, it's mid so I go to the ARC which is a 15 min walk from ME. bathroom situation kinda messed up everywhere ngl, mesa court classics have those blurry windows for showers which I absolutely despise 🤮, middle earth classics have curtains.

@@crooshed69420 only people in towers have somewhat of their own bathroom, 8 people share 2 bathrooms whereas in classics your entire floor shares however many stalls you have (usually 3) honestly the stall per person is kinda the same

How can I apply to medical clg in UCI i am international student
@Midnight-nb8kg3 жыл бұрын
Hm...so since SATs are test optional this year, im taking advantage of not having to study the SAT in order to do more in my clubs like Machine Learning Club and Computer Science Club. I am also taking 3 Computer science college (Java, C++, Data Structures and Algorithms) classes at LBCC. Would it still be recommended that i take the SAT or is it better to take advantage of test optional for UC's in order to do more work in my clubs? I have also taken 2 AP classes in sophomore year and am taking 4 AP classes in junior year. So far I have a 4.0 uw gpa and 4.44 w gpa.

hi! a junior in hs here. for the past 2 years i’ve had some issues mentally and at home which really affected my academics and gpa. let’s just say they were quite below standard. i’m trying my best right now to keep a higher gpa which is currently at 3.66. i know what to write about when it comes to challenges and growth, but do you have any advice for the future? i did a sport for one semester and right now i work part time at my local walmart which i now really enjoy. i never really got good grades during past ap classes so i’m taking 2 ib classes this year.
@JosiahWong3 жыл бұрын
Hey Lynelle! FIrst off, kudos to pushing through while looking forward to the future. In terms of college apps, keep up the courseload, sports, and most importantly being the best student you can day by day. All of these experiences will no doubt make incredible essays when you start applying. You got this! :))

Hi! I wanted to ask whether or not i have a good chance for uci with my current statistics rn. So I'm a junior in high school and rn now my total gpa stands at a 4.3 weighted and 3.4 unweighted and my grades as a junior rn are pretty good with all As except for AP chem where i have a C right now just because it's so hard lol. also a background on me: I am Vietnamese who played basketball for 3 years and has been in positions of leadership in my CSF and NHS organizations at my school as well as Key Club and other clubs that were just newly created to help out during the pandemic. also i have a passion for law mainly because of the amount of politics happening this year but I just find the whole subject fascinating! If I wrote about all of that in my application essay as well as keep a weighted gpa of around 4.5, do I stand a good chance in my senior year to get accepted into uci? thank you so much for your help!

haha hey chloe! great job for already looking ahead for college apps. your sophomore and junior year is what really counts so make sure to push through and excel in those classes while proactively maintaing your leadership positions!! great job forming that new club. your experience and action toward the community would be an awesome essay response :))

Hey Josiah, I currently have a 3.4 uw and 3.7 w gpa and I've only taken 1 AP class so far but I'm planning to take two more this year in my senior year. My sat is a 1350 but I'm studying for the August one to hopefully get a better score. I'm involved in a couple clubs with positions, varsity golf 4 years and captain, and over 200 volunteer hours with the presidential award. My dream school as of right now realistically (bc of my grades) is UCI and I was wondering what my chances are of attending and if you have any tips for me to stand out/anything more I can do bc I feel like I seem pretty average. Thank you !

Hello Taylor! Wow yeah you definitely have great leadership and community involvement that would be great to write about your essays! Hey Josiah, I'm a rising senior looking at potential schools to apply to and I was wondering what the course requirements were for UCI. I saw on their website that we needed a year of Visual and Performing Arts and a year in College-Preparatory Electives. Any advice on what courses these would satisfy? That'd really be so amazing man, thanks. Also commenting even after a year this video came out is very admirable, thank you
@JosiahWong4 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I think you're referrring to the A-G requirements so visual and performing arts is anything like band, yearbook, graphic design while the electives is any additional year of requirements (e.g. a 3rd year of language, extra AP science class, etc.) Thank you! I appreciate it. I wanna revamp my channel up again this fall which also includes making an updated admisisons video cause UC threw SATs out the window haha. Cheers!

Hey Josiah, I’m a upcoming senior in the IB program. I’ve had a 4.0 uw gpa throughout my freshman and sophomore year, but my junior year my grades took a dip when I moved in with my sister and barely made honor role 1st semester and now am most likely going to be receiving a 3.33 uw gpa for my 2nd semester report card. Background on myself; I’m a foster kid that has always moved around allot and have finally found a solid footing with moving in with my sister. Throughout high school I have always done extra curricular activities (football, baseball, and working at Chick-fil-A) and have racked up about 150 hours of volunteering hours through programs like wwoof and helping out at local nursing home. I was hoping to get a great SAT score to go along with my volunteer hours and extra curriculars to hide my junior year flunk, but now all UC’s won’t be accepting SAT scores. I’m wondering how you think I should go about my days from here on out and what I should focus on/look into doing. Thank you.

Hey Matthew! Congrats on your hard work so far. You should be really proud of yourself bro. Continue doing those extracircculars and community service and maybe find new ones. Further, in your essays you could talk about your previous challenges and how you grew from them. Hope this helps!

How are you liking your overall experience at Irvine so far since you’ve experienced both your freshmen and sophomore year???
@JosiahWong5 жыл бұрын
I went into UCI not expecting a lot because I barely knew anything about the environment. Now, I've been super blessed and blown away by the community as well as the campus itself. Its been super easy to meet some incredibly down-to-earth people as people are pretty chill and open. The campus is super beautiful and the design in part allows for that community cause its one big circle so you'll always be bumping into people everyday. Theres so much to do such as the ASUCI concerts, Vendor fairs, convenience of UTC, and ofc Ring Road Boba lol. The atmosphere is academically focused as all the departments are super solid when it comes to research and opportunities outside the class. In short, Irvine allowed me to adjust with my more laid-back personality while still challenging me to pursue and reach those future goals. Hope this helps :)
