fwiw: octopus resurgence isn't confined to those depths; dove main wall on wed night (21aug) mostly in the 60-70fsw range and came upon literally hundreds of octopodes, they were everywhere....

@@jonathancohen7791 yeah many more octo’s than what I have been use to seeing. These at depth are much larger than those I see shallower. The body of these are bigger than two fists. That might be coincidence.

Times have changed ... back in 1974 I was based there and found you could just walk into a 'Dive Shop' and rent a tank, reg, mask and flippers for around $15 a day with refills/ tank swap for $5. No experience or training necessary!!

There are wings with different lift capacities for a reason. If you needed 60lbs of lift for twins, they wouldn't make 45lbs wings. Same is true for single backmount and sidemount setups. I went with a 40lbs single wing because of the weird pricing at my dive store. I wanted the PSD coating that Apeks offers, and the tiny price differences steered me towards the 40lbs. Webbing is webbing. You don't need the branding. Same goes for backplates (except for XDeep). Adjustable harnesses are a godsent if you're using them with different types of exposure suits. Having to adjust a single piece of webbing every time you switch from a rashguard to a 3mm to a 5mm to a drysuit is an absolute pain in the backside.
