It amazes me that Stompers are not being made. Hot Wheels and Monster Jam sell monster trucks like crazy, surely Stompers would be popular if made today.

I think it would be harder than you think, mostly due to licensing costs. Back in the late 70s early 80s it was easy to contact Ford or GM or Toyota, etc. and ask for design/branding permission. These days it would cost millions each. The cars themselves, especially 1st gen, were absurdly simple in design. They required no PCBs with speed/light controllers, have a simple on off switch and 4 gears (6 if you count the motor). These days they'd be over complicated with ICs on PCBs (for safety), garish designs, be too big, and too expensive. I picked up a non-working Defiants 4x4 recently and was amazed at the whole thing. gear box, drive shafts, PCB for speed control and lights, and the design was just too toyish. And even that is an older design. It's fixed and back on ebay. I'll just keep paying too much for vintage ones until I have the collection I want.

One time, back in the early seventies, I was riding a wheelie on a fenced in playground, I rode it for so long that I did not want to set it down, so I rode a wheelie straight into that chain link fence, Very bad mistake as the front wheel rebounded off of the fence and sent me backwards and I cracked my head off of the tarmac behind me.. Ouch! that Hurt!.. I hoped that no one witnessed that stupid foolish move!.. but now, thinking back 50 years ago.. I laugh my ass off about it... hehehe

Great collection. Most folks identify the Schwinn Sting Ray and it's many versions as 'the definitive muscle bike' but there were many versions manufactured by other makers during the 'muscle bike craze' back in the day. I had an AMF 'Renegade' when I was a kid..that thing could pull wheelies like nobody's business no lie I could keep the front end up for a half mile. No helmet back then either it's a wonder I survived my childhood but by God it was fun. Enjoyed the video.

Nice job but I was cringing as soon as you started because the leopard print Solo Polo is the rarest and hardest seat to find and it was definitely worth much more in the original condition even with the rips.

As a elementary kid circa 71-75 I had a Swinger II. (Two). It was a single speed coaster, banana seat etc. It was orange paint. Pretty sure it was a penny"s model .I cant find any info anywhere. As you have the original swingers I was hoping you could tell me anything about the Swinger II.
