I was incarcerated on the level 1 yard there from 2011 to 2016...came straight from a 3 yard ...like going from concrete and steel to paradise 😊😊😊Inmate visitors pour revenue into Tehachapi. So many travel to Tehachapi and spend the night to go to visit early. My father spent the night to pick me up early on my release date, then we went to a coffee shop type place in Tehachapi for my first free world meal in 20 years. I was in St. Joseph hospital in Bakersfield a few times and many dr appointments. Our group fund raisers purchased food from a place in Tehachapi...

Leading the way for woman? The sound very repressed. So who is keeping them down, where they need someone to" lead the way", as you say? Don't tell me I know; White men. It has to be someone. What hyperbole and finger pointing. And how about the most repressed by the government and leftist power structure that controls California , which is White males?

Hahahaha, Stulud Liberals had a chance to Recall Gavin Gruesome ut decided to keep him and now look....criminals will flood the streets while these government bureaucrats make over six figures and bonuses. Start with the high elected paychecks and minimize their power. For example...Newsom mandated masks during covid and had people arrested for not complying but yet he was at a nice dinner with many people with NO mask! He also hurt many mom and pop businesses and many of them had to close because of this guy. Newsom rather invest in a high speed rail to Las Vegas rather than keeping g the community safe

Co's are also very involved in the community, as coaches, volunteers etc. Tehachapi is part of CDC history in that it was one of original old prisons and i hate to hear about the closure. I worked for the dept and spent many nights in your hotels and restaurants and i absolutely loved visiting. As a retired PA, it was time to retire early when AB109 passed... Doesn't surprise me that cdcr is secretive and its all political.

I went to high school in Tehachapi and entered the Army. After that I worked at CCI from 1994 to 2004 as a Corrections Officer. It is real hard to see this happening to the community. I lived in Tehachapi until 1999 when I moved to California City due to the housing market being cheaper. I would commute to Tehachapi. The 40 minute drive was not too bad.

Were the COs as corrupt then as they are now? I’m asking this as a serious question, I’ve been there so no need to deny it. That place is corrupt as hell and full of drunk COs.

California government today varies between dumb and crazy, to brain dead and bat shit crazy. Tehachapi is a true hidden gem, frankly because it does not seem like California- like an island apart. Liberals attempt to destroy anything traditional and functional- like arresting, prosecuting and locking criminals up. It is in their authoritarian DNA.

If the republicans can't do it than the democrats can't fix it. They're both cut from the same cloth. Both are lying hypocrites, greedy, self serving . They work for the public but they act like we work for them. The republicans and democrats are the bane of America

Closures of the many prisons in California is a scary thought … especially when all that is happening at the border? If we don’t learn anything from the closures of all the state mental institutions; we are now all suffering from the repercussions .. eg.. homelessness, killing of people by police who are Not trained in Psychiatry … Not sure if this is a (Democratic or a Republican )budget reform bill?? Political reform WTF 🤬 If we continue down this road by partial and closures of many other prisons, and we continue to allow many ,HIGH PROFILE :Level V -type of people who are now here in the USA 🇺🇸 and there is no sign of the border crossing stopping …. And , the defunding the police 👮🏻♂️ is a recipe for disaster.. we will be another HATI ,☠️Lawlessness .. Yes , threw out the years there was a pendulum swinging through out over the years, but this time ;Is different than all the other pendulum swinging.. and it NEVER added up to anything that worked out for the better of any Long Term Effects on SOCIETY As A a WHOLE!!! The narrative “The Psychological Descent into violence , as evidenced threw out the centuries and our generation isn’t any different just the magnitude is ………….?.

They have had those courses auto body and welding ever since the 80s, it’s nothing new and I heard they’re shutting down level 2 yard so it’s three and 4 yard now so if you get locked up in there you are doing a whole shit load of time not just one year but that’s just what I heard

This was such an educational segment. I had the great pleasure to meet and talk with Mr. Schlosser a while back and it was apparent to me that (aside from being a genuine good man) -- he is a man with a great vision for Tehachapi; and he truly strives to balance the needs of the community/customers with the regulations the State mandates... which I can say --- it is not easy. It obviously takes an entire team of City professionals/elected officials/community engagement to shape a city and its direction - and the transformation of Tehachapi from years back is noticeable and in my personal opinion, it has made Tehachapi such a desirable place to reside. I can go on about this gem I call Tehachapi, but I absolutely love the downtown feel - plus all the seasonal events. Good job, Mr. Schlosser and City Hall team! Sincerely, Jose Martinez

Great updates as always -- thank you! Like many people, I am jazzed about Chipotle's progress; I also look forward to, hopefully sooner rather than later, seeing the old K-Mart building occupied by a business(s) . There is certainly ample space there, and great location... Trader Joe's or Whole Foods maybe? Also... 10-week course for entrepreneurs...? That is such an awesome service to the community! I'll be sure to inform interested people about this course. Once again, thank you for the updates -- stay awesome! - Jose M

Sergeant Amelia Thompson cost the taxpayers $600,000 when she decided to taser Richard Kollin after he had already been shot twice on the ground by Officer Medina and Officer McCombs. Mr Kollin was unarmed when they shit him at point blank range. When Sgt Thompson arrived she used her taser to justify the shooting, luckily the security cameras at the Holiday Inn captured the attempted murder Mr Kollin. The city then billed taxpayers $600,000 when they settled the lawsuit after Thompson, Medina and McCombs were stripped of qualified immunity in federal court. The mayor Dr. Phil voted for the city to pay out the settlement. What a imbecile.

How to deflect criticism for the high crime rate. 1. Blame the victims 2. Blame Cal City and Mojave (wink wink). 3. Blame prop 47. If wasn’t for Prop 47 a career criminal like Peyton Kroeger would be in prison, but instead he gets a ticketed and released after a hit and run, with no insurance, with alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the car and he is allowed to drive away because of Prop 47.
