I remember having to jump off that when I went through lifeguard school back in the early 70s.

Hi, I'm putting together a short video about the Children's Pool for my non-commercial KZbin channel. Would it be possible for me to use a few seconds of this video, if I give you credit for it during my video? You can see how I have done this with other people's videos here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYbPlaeGpcSdkLs

This used to be a great place to venture out and snorkel- a privately built breakwater for kids to enjoy the ocean somewhat safely. But thanks to all knowing government and animal rights people it has been allowed to become a habitat for sea lions and seals. The place reeks now(terrible smell) and will eventually attract white sharks..who will do what they do.I hope I am wrong.

mrf111stick - you are wrong. The cove area has always been a haul-out. While it is a shame that people don't get to play on the beach as much (Federal Law protects pinipeds and other marine mammals from harassment or 'molestation' = disturbing their space) whenever they aren't packed in on the beach - people can still go there. I surf the area quite a bit. From what I've seen - the only thing that's changed is that Federal law is being enforced more. And you'd NEVER get that structure built today - coastal commission tends look down on such structures. If you want safe beach access for snorkeling or kids - S. end of La Jolla shores is a better option.
