We just got engaged with my long distance boyfriend (Im from the Czech Republic and he's Scottish) an we're just trying to gather all the info and everything, especially which steps to take first and what follows and all that, so this has been super helpful!! So you got all your documents and did the application, paid the fee, got the biometrics appointment they kept your passport for those 5 weeks befoer you got it back with the stamp (so I cannot go see my fiance in the meantime I guess :D that sucks lol) soooo then you got your passport with the stamp and went to the UK and THEN you handed in the "marriage notice" in the registry office together? then the marriage notice is approved or whatever and then you can get married? if I understand the next steps correctly. you cant book a registry unless you have a marriage or fiancé visa as I can see so a bit hard to show that you have a booking as you need the visa to book . Yet they don't let you get married unless you have the applied fiancé visa. I'm pretty sure other European countries don't put as much obstacles in. As a matter of fact in the US you just marry somebody there and you can just stay . The amount of requirements for people who love each other ,for the right to be together is, what I can see, a lot . Yet 2 UK people on the dole can be together . Talking about being second class citizen and less rights . Yet they think they have too many human rights . wow. Coming to inspect my house , bit of a violation . If its not fit for purpose I'm sure my other half would have something to say is that not up to the people who are together to decide ? Yet they can just enter your property if you don't play ball. Goodbye . It must be the colonial past , cant let go of controlling people. Sad
