What a great version, love this. Also worth noting, talking at gigs, not just a problem in the 2000s.

Not a lot of Soft Bomb shows on YT. With Lisa Mednick. So that makes this pretty special. R.I.P. Martin.

Martin Kean on (a beautiful yellow Gibson Ripper) bass! Prior to this he was in one of the best lineups of The Chills from Dunedin NZ, he sadly had to leave Stereolab when (I think) a prior hiccup with NZ legal system meant he couldn't travel internationally with the band...

What's wrong with people that they're not entranced by a band and soloist pouring their hearts and souls into their music? You pay good money to see and hear one of the best live bands ever with an virtuoso guitarist just tearing it up, and you just talk the whole time?

I was there the night before this and four minutes in the guy next to me pulled out his phone and started texting back and forth about candles for the rest of the song. Real odd.

Never released as an album with so many unknwn songs on it?
@andubh93608 ай бұрын
A lot of the ”unknown” songs was on Dave McCombs album ”Love of will”. A kind of low key (ie not so loud/uptempo songs) which showcases Dave’s strengths and his great songwriting skills. It’s an emotional album (the songs affects you emotionally) - like his songs do.
