To be fair, Hitchens wrote the trial of Henry Kissinger specifically as a criminal prosecution against kissinger.

Talking about laws of logic while stating confidently tht Jef Bexos wants to have child labur and the only thing stopping him is a law and that he has no moral compss of his own and that it couldn't possibly align with the concept of not having child labour if it were financially beneficial to do so. It's such a typical lefty way to dehumanise others. If Jeff cannot be swayed by any moral arguments as they claim, then is he really a human? Are there humans with no conception of morality? That can never be swayed? No. So, they are dehumanising him, which is an open door to killing him.

Most people regard Gulf War 1 as far more justifiable than 2003's invasion of Iraq, so this just feels ironic now. While I was against the 2003 Iraq War, Hitchens made a decent case for it when he spoke. The fact that the outcome was extremely poor does not necessarily mean that the removal of Saddam from power was a doomed idea from the start. Surely, more thought into who and what would replace Saddam and his regime should have occurred prior to invasion. Even if more thought had been applied to the situation, I have a hard time imagining a truly positive outcome of *any* invasion of Iraq. Despite this, I sometimes wonder how things might have gone if we had, at the very least, ditched the idea of de-Baathification. As for why Hitchens went from "Neither Washington nor Moscow, International Socialism" to "Washington after all," I can only offer the possibility that he grew up.

This is so good. Political commentary is so stale and repetitive until you listen to something like this. Sutt’ and Mi’ Brooks don’t just bemoan the gatekeepers but discuss metaphorical lock-picking all the doors slammed in our faces. Left is best!

This is a echo of a golden age. Mi’ Brooks was so smart and nice. And at the drop of a hat turn into a brilliant TROLL like we haven’t seen outside Bill Burr. Unfortunately Bill’s act will often be “I thought a lot about this conspiracy theory but it’s wrong. Spectacularly wrong or else this won’t get an immediate laugh.” Bill’s interviews reveal that like a sane-conspiracy-theorist he largely agrees with Karl Marx: money looks after money and people are fucked. Obviously that sounds different in Marx’s native language, proletariat and bourgeoisie, etc.

Unlike most "youtubers" you really got the sense that michael was a prolific reader when he spoke. His words seem prophetic but only because he had a thorough understanding of history and accedemic thought. Most of the ideas he presented were not new or unique but suppressed and long forgotten by most.

This is very important work - thank you Mr Brooks! Many African people don’t quite understand this history, in fact most of the Global South does not and many fall for the close to 100 years of anti-communist, “freedom and democracy”, neoliberal propaganda of the US-Led imperial west. Bless up this man and share this channel. It needs at least 1 million subs

Jesus, these replies. I can't believe this tedious Hitchens whitewashing was still going on in 2020. "Context, context. How dare you compare Daddy Hitchens to Peterson, he only defended torture for 8 years, he was forced to be a neocon, you see" He was Islamophobic, plain and simple. He died just before the West succumbed to a wave of Christian fascism that may very well end the world, and the threat he focused on was Islamic crusades which didn't materialise at all. Whoops. Especially since it was that same fear of Muslims that brought these fascists to power in the West. Nu Atheism is a failed experiment, and it's about time you admitted it. It was all about smugness and not an ounce of the empathy that good projects like TMBS are founded on. Of the big 4, only Dennett hasn't turned into an anti-data reactionary. All the big 2014 Nu atheist channels, like Carl Benjamin and Tim Pool, are now basically theocrats. What a legacy of failure.
