Amazingly similar in style to a number of paintings I just had occasion to view at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. Truly remarkable similarity to Monet’s depiction of weeping willows, that he planted and repeatedly painted by the pond in his garden. Beautiful lighting.

That turned out very atmospheric. Very well done. It reminds me on landscapes I have seen so many times in my life, but also maybe in my dreams. Your fast and lose method is quite impressive and I wish I will be able to copy it for my own water color paintings. Greetings from Germany.

I love your paintings Steven! I did try this one with you and then lost track of you and went off my own way (wild). I decided it needed an old hay bale in the forground. Then the cows showed up and really mucked it up! Lol. Maybe I'll post it over on Patreon. 😢

You're right, and none of the big names in watercolour use paint right out of the tube - its not designed to be used like that. Not sure why some people have this " fresh from the tube 😋 " obsession, because what do they do with the squeesed out paint after it dries ?...scrape it off like oil paint ?.. A very expensive way to paint watercolours.
@StevenCronin
@StevenCronin 12 күн бұрын
Yes Paul, the wasted paint was irritating to me so I thought 'why not just use it dry?'

Steve you ever tried arches rough paper? Really made a difference for my paintings. It’s so strong you can really wet the back and front and soak the paper. It’s really strong and durable. I tried Fabriano it’s not quite got that extra quality. Be interested to see you try it
