I'll try not to cry. I was 23, I met the only woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Dire Straits was her favorite band. I only heard the song a few times. It didn't last long, she left our hometown for a career in California. I couldn't listen to Dire Straits for a long time. Then I heard Phil and Don sing it with Chet and Mark. Never did find anyone to make me feel that way again, though I did get one pregnant so I got to hum this to a little one for a while. Can't hear it and not think of her. I hope she's had a great life, she dodged a bullet with this one.
