I like them alot too. I also like the glow barbs. I have 6 of all different colrs in a 40 gallon with mollies platies and couple gourmanis no problems. I also have a school with my mbuna chiclids in a 55 gallon with some rosy and gold barbs no problems there either, Plus if you really look at the tiger they have great colors,

I kept a glass pop bottle and some stainless steel spoons with my tiger barbs. The spoons did ok.

i hate to say it but the neon tetra are so hard to keep alive, i never had luck with these guys. i have a bunch of: yoyo loach, kubotai loach, tiger barbs, cory panda and a giant pleco, they all seem to live happily.

I'm just about to get 150 gallon tank and I've been weighing up what to get after my albino bristlenoses go in. I've now made my mind up with tiger barbs and clown loaches. It's going to be mostly black with driftwood to their colours should pop. Thank you.

I have 7 tiger barbs, 2 platties and 1 peppermint catfish in a 17 gallon tank. Temperature is between 71 and 75. They are happy, healthy and I have no problems. Been only doing this for 8 months. Love my tiger barbs

You gotta get your temp up higher about 77-80 also u need maybe 4 more tigers before they fully mature. They will pick each other off with smaller numbers once they become adults

I've had one rainbow shark and 5 barbs in a 20 gallon tank and I believe the barbs killed the shark. Do you know why that would have happened when the rainbow shark has a log to stay in at the bottom of the tank

whoever told you that combination in that tank size was a good idea is at fault, rainbow sharks dont do well with other fish in anything less than 55g once they get older, and tiger barbs are similarly bad in small quarters, it was properly a death match between two species unable to have enough space. also even in a bigger tank I would have done more barbs to reduce aggression on both sides.

@tdannyV2 Thanks for the information and I'm getting g a larger tank before I try that again. I think tiger barbs look dope that's why I want some and they don't hide like the rainbow sharks but I still want both lol

in my tiger barb keeping experience things that can mix pretty well are angle fish surprisingly, other barbs, catfish, plecos or other bottom dwellers like snails, and most bigger non-schooling non-agressive fish. One to never put with them are mollys, minnows, or shrimp.

Dude, in a 75 gallon tank? Of course they'll be fine. When I first got into this hobby 30 years ago there was no KZbin and everything went off of word of mouth, nobody talked about fish. I had like 20 Tiger Barbs in a 10 gallon tank and they were perfectly fine for years while I was upgrading my tanks, I don't do that anymore because now I know they get stressed and whatnot... But come on dude, with a 75 gallon tank you can load that sucker up with tetras and barbs and everything will be fine regardless of what they say on the internet

Tiger barb and tinfoil barb aint tank mate.. i witness myself by putting them the tiger and tinfoil barb together in there 6+ group and the tinfoil barb still attack the tiger barb and kill them

I have tiger barb and tinfoil barb also yellow lab in my tank nothing such has happened this can happen if the tank space is less and always keep a emergency tank if you try something like this but the fish you put need to be small size so that they grow up together and tiger barb in lager group!

Im not really sure if neon and ember tetras or any small short bodied tetras would be compatible at all. I saw all tiger barbs ganging up on them

Can Tiger Barbs and Florida Flag Fish be good tank mates in a 75-gallon tank? 12 to 18 barbs to 10 to 12 flag fish. With a school of 10 Cory cats. The tank would be moderately planted. Thinking of Molly's or Swordtails for extra fish.

Cory cats in a large amount like that should be ok. I’m not sure about the flag fish. Not familiar with them. Mollies or swordtails would be ok in numbers of 4 or more. 👍

again, I wouldn't. But doesn't mean you can't. If you have enough tiger barbs, they may be distracted with each other and leave the tetras alone. Keep a close eye on them if you make that decision. Good luck

Question for you commenters. I have a 90 gallon with 8 convict cichlids. I’m thinking of putting in about 40 tiger barbs. Thoughts?

Yea I’d like to hear what others think as well. Me personally wouldn’t try. Considering 40 barbs is a lot even by themselves in a 90. Not the point tho. Depending on how big the convicts are you might have a fighting chance on keeping at least half of the barbs alive. But hey to each their own.

sorry for the late response, i dont know much about kribs. but i do know they do well with schooling fish. id make sure you have enough barbs to settle the tension in the tank.

None of my barbs nip the fins of my angels or the gouramies. But they were the first fish in the tank and the barbs were added as tiny fry.

I'll be the last to comment on your video's. I noticed you're not making new video's, but I'm going to subscribe just in case. Anyway I love barb's and my favorite is the tinfoil barb which I had 6 in a 350 gallon tank. They grow fast and huge, they also like eating every plant in the tank. Tiger barb's like a well planted tank, so for the little guy's happiness I wouldn't keep them together. About 4 or 5 years ago Cory of Aquarium Co-op had an 800 gallon tank with 300 tiger barb's in the tank. Best school of fish in a home aquarium I'd ever seen.

UPDATE: When I was in petsmart I asked them if they would take in my convict which they do sometimes and they said yes, SO i bought their school of tiger barbs a school of 6 3 males and 3 females, I am hoping to ad more like 4 more next month thanks for all you help You are the best !!!!

Hi an update so in my 37g my 2 convict jumped while I was doing a water change 💀, so now theres one , so do you think I could kepp like 7-8 tigerbarbs in my 37 g now since theres only 1 convict sorry for keep comenting I promise this the last one but thx again your videos are great and helpful and i couldn't rember the male: girl ratio you said for tiger brabs could you state it again? thx

Typically 1 male to 3 females. With one convict I think you’ll be ok. But take in consideration for the convict may be a little more aggressive thinking it’s cornered. Just keep an eye on any weird aggression.

Hi, so i did some more reasearch and i found out that tigerbarbs will die with convicts from other people so do you think it work fine I have 37g with 3 male convictcs that are 2-3 inchs each so do you think I can add 8 tigerbarbs, I know I have asked a question before but I dont want anyfish to die, and my lfs doesn't accept returns so will it work? PLS HELP! thx

I think it would be fine but again I’m no expert. You will always gamble with putting any aggressive fish together. The barbs will stick together but if you do go ahead and add them I would keep an extra eye on the tank to be sure no severe aggression takes place. I’ve seen barbs with all kinds of fish and it’s just the luck of the draw. If it were me. I would try it. Just keep an eye on the tank

That’s a great question. Tiger barbs and convicts in general are good tank mates. In your case I don’t see anything wrong. The convicts might get alil more aggressive but in time might even out. Tiger barbs can hold their own. I think it would be fine, just pay attention to any severe aggression. You’ll know. Most importantly tho, you do as you wish.

I like the video. Seem a little stoned but kind of makes it funny. As for the barbs I’m about to get 12/13 for my 4ft. It has some Corydoras, some bristlenose, and a couple of yo-yo’s so should be good.
