Just add a scissor mower on your ride-on and, chase the kids around the bloc. This way, you get to keep all the candies for yourself.

Is the pilot jet and the main jet the same thing? My RPM goes up and down continuously. A mechanic said the pilot jet is stopped up. Tomorrow I'll try cleaning the main jet and see it that fixes the problem. I have to run the engine at half choke to get it to run. I think that indicates the main jet is stopped up. Am I guessing right?

I bought this can 4/26/24. I live in Florida. I am experiencing very long Drying times. ACE and older Rust-Oleum cans dry over night or in 4-6 hours. The Customer Sprsy can is taking a full 12-24 hours in normal humidity in my Garage. Is this normal or not?

I have a governor adjustment control speed setup similar to this but mine being the same carb but with the 4 screw set up and im wondering if its possible to competely remove and replace that whole setup cause i know you can probably replace the springs but i think the whole governor speed adjustment setup might be getting worn out and needs the whole thing replaced and adjusted

On a kohler ks540-3011 engine 18hp, the carb needle hangs in a plastic float a drops into a plastic plate that separates the float bowl and the main body. It does not appear to have a seat in the plastic hole that the needle drops into causing the float not to sit level! The kit I got had a needle but no seat! What am I missing? Thank you!

Where did you purchase your engine from? My stock engine had water intrusion and the piston is rusted to the cylinder. Is there any chance of getting it back running or would it be more worth it to replace the engine?

I use DELO 15/40 diesel and Valvoline 15/40 desel #2. ALWAYS high detergent even in compressors and washer pumps. Lucas in transmissions and heavy oils like DELO for smokers. Used DELO in my S-10 with the 4.3. MAXED oil pressure at 195 at idle , Gauge pegged. DELO and Deere oil have flattappet additives.BLESSINGS!

Very informative! One of his side comments about attaching a fuel line for a weed eater to the brass pickup tube was priceless. Because I have an antique B&S engine which replacement carbs are unavailable II cannot find the replacement carburetor. The pickup tube was way too long. Shortening the pickup tube and attaching a fuel line and filter solves my issue!

@budsodalsky14 күн бұрын
You did not cover history, Historically, oils used to only be 1 weight (SAE 30, SAE 40, SAE50 etc). 60's or 70's they came up with the W oils. Also, the BIG thing you did not mention, that peoples need to know, is prior to the 70's or 60's, the oil did not have detergents. THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY when you crack open those old engines they have caked in oil in the nooks and crannies. It usually HAS NOTHING to do with how often they changed the oil. Its hilarious to watch these youngsters (and oldsters) with these KZbin videos say: "Well you can see they never changed the oil", Back in them day, it did not matter if you changed the oil all the time, that non detergent oil caked where it moved more slowly! So, youngsters, wise up!

I rarely subscribe to channels. I'm subscribing to this one right now. This is clear concise no nonsense, no bullshit instructions on what's going on with these carbs. I just did a deal with my awesome neighbors and got a lightly used 8 HP chipper from 1995. Her dad brought it new from Sam's club in 95 for his yard and it is in excellent condition. My neighbor's on The other side lived there for a year or two and bought a Cobalt electric lawn mower, weed eater, and leaf blower. Right before he left he came over and asked me if I wanted them for free, along with a nice little 10-in miter saw. I said sure even though I didn't really need them. I ended up trading those things for this tree chipper and it needed a little TLC to get it working smoothly again. I put some seafoam in the gas tank with some fresh gas and a new spark plug. It did not want to run unless I had the choke on. I ended up backing out that high side adjustment screw and that did the trick. Now I'm going to change the oil. I also put an extra large new fuel filter on it. I may end up needing to change out the fuel lines they are a little dried out. This thing is really excellent it has no plastic other than the gas tank, and it has a normal manual throttle and choke. This is a very reliable configuration. This engine would be pretty awesome mounted on a go-kart. I have no intentions of doing that, but years ago I would have loved to do it.

That’s awesome, just what I needed. I dropped my carb. And the plastic choke top piece that accepts the handle cracked off. I have a spare carb so now I can change the plastic piece. Thanks to you, great video. 🙏🏼💙🇺🇸

12 year old video saves the day! I'm working on a Snapper RT8 with an 8hp B&S. The carb linkages look like this one. I didn't pay attention to how everything was connected when taking the carb off. When I tried to reassemble, I could not figure out how the choke linkage attached. This video helped me find out. Thank you so much!

There was a recall from Husqy for the muffler retention bolts. That is why your issue is unresolved. Fortunately for me my dealer installed the recall kit when the muffler bolts kept working loose. As I recall they added a bolt to total 3 instead of 2. This happened for me about 2006 A.D.

I had been trying to reset what felt like a "loose" breaker and it would just fall back to the off position without any sort of click, heat, or noise. After watching your video (timestamp 6:00), I saw that you reset a breaker by pushing the lower half across (which didn't stick) and then the upper half across (which took.) I did the same with mine and saw the same behavior. I assume it's a switch that is soon to fail if it hasn't failed already. I'll have to test and see tomorrow! Anyway, thanks for such a good video, man!
