You could have clearly shredded through the track but you refrained, and chose to serve the music instead. You played with feeling, added your original sound, tone and emotion to this track. Another reason you probably chose not to film your face during this, is because of "zombie guitar face" one experiences during passionate solos like this. It becomes so hypnotic, great guitarists don't make those faces to look cool, they have no choice. They're in a trance. You did such a great improv on this, definitely one of the best! Well done! The best part is, if you had to do it again, I'm sure it would be different. Like Jimmy Vaughan's quote about Stevie Ray Vaughan playing solos live: "He never played it the same way once, much less twice"

Eddie would actually take the cigarette out of his mouth to p, play this one, but he never lost that grin while playing it. He made it look so fun and effortless... A lot of people don't know EVH was a piano virtuoso, too, and...looking back now, I think this is what he was doing here. Using the fretboard like a piano keyboard.
