Many thanks indeed. This summary was extremely helpful, because life is too short to read every Star Wars novel, although somehow I am expecting you to do so! How about tackling Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy and James Luceno’s Tarkin for us all?

I just read this book. So who wrote ‘run’ on the napkin, do you think?
@brunoleal40366 жыл бұрын
There's a theory it could have been Ben Solo, since it's handwritten and we can spot what seems to be a pen on his desk in a flashback from The Last Jedi
@HeatMyShorts6 жыл бұрын
I don't think that theory really adds up at all. Luke had already sensed the darkness in Ben during the flashback in The Last Jedi, there is absolutely no indication of Ben's turn to the dark in this book. I'm sure there's more than a few pens laying around in the galaxy.
@brunoleal40366 жыл бұрын
I know it may be hard to accept, but this theory would connect this occurance with the scene Ben refuses to fire at his mother, also from The Last Jedi. It has been said that Rian Johnson helped with some concepts for this book as well, what could hint for it to be true. The writing material on his desk sure points to a habbit of his, and Leia specifically says like if no one in the galaxy did that anymore. I don't know, I like to think he could have sensed something and tried to warn his mother. But of course there are countless ways of refuting this theory, just believe it would make a nice touch :) Mabe we will find out who did it someday

Guys one of the reasons this ties into the larger universe in the MCU where the Guardians roam is because they are dealing with the Grandmaster ( Jeff Goldbloom ) who is brother to the Collector from the first Guardians film and they are cosmic entities and elders of the universe in Marvel comics. Thanos is also a cosmic entity although not one of the elders. He represents another tie in to this film in that in the Marvel comics he is in love with the cosmic entity Death and Hela ( played by Kate Blanchet in Thor 3 ) is the Asgardian goddess of death. Since I doubt they are going to use a secondary representation of death for the MCU like they do in the comics Hela is going to be it here. Thanos only ever has one goal in all his plots including with the Infinity Gauntlet and that is the destruction of all life in the universe as a token of his love for death. Thor: Ragnarok represents a key link in the chain tying the entire MCU story line together for the whole Thanos story.

The Thor movies were the lowest grossing movies in the Marvel universe. Going in this direction was an attempt to energize the franchise.. I think this will be the best of the Thor movies..

In Nordic mythology Ragnarok is the end of days for the Norse gods. Hela, the goddess of death destroys Thor's hammer (his source of power) and then Asgard once and for all time. It appears Thor survives and get thrown from Asgard's realm into the outer reaches of the universe. Since he is only super-strong without his hammer powers, he gets captured by slavers to be sold as a gladiator in that part of space. Just so happens it's the same part of space where we find the Collector, Grandmaster, Nova Corps, the Kree & Skrulls, AND the Guardians. So yeah, it looks like Guardians because that's where this happens. In the same part of the universe. If it was on earth would we say, "It looks like Avengers"? No. It's something called "continuity" people. Of course it looks like Guardians, it's in the same location. Should it look different just because Thor shows up there? So since it's in the same realm as Guardians, makes sense the marketing is similar. And the music? Led Zeppelin's "The Immigrant Song" is about Vikings, Asgard and the Norse mythos. Jimmy Page was a huge Thor comic book fan back in the 70's and wrote about it in this song. Besides, Hulk and Thor in gladiatorial combat, how heavy metal is that!!!! Perfect song choice.
