Yes, Greg, latterite can be good, 90% of it is barren, though. Picking an area with good soil sample anomalies can improve your chances. This was an old push, so it's definitely worth a look. 👍

If you go to buy one, the GPX6000 is the greatest investment you can make. Im probably a bit more experienced, but I bought one in January 2023 $7,500.00 AUD, and by October (79 days detecting), it paid for itself 3 times over.

Happy days, mate 👍 What one did you buy? I have the 17" & 22" cc's. 12", 15" & 20" spirals. I prefer the spirals
@jenkosgoldadventures
@jenkosgoldadventures 29 күн бұрын
How’s the spiral compared to the cc?
@HuntingOldYella
@HuntingOldYella 26 күн бұрын
@jenkosgoldadventures The CC are not sensitive all the way to the edge of the coil. The transmit winding is on the outside and the receive winding is in the middle. They are hard to pin point. People patch hunt with then but they are designed to be overlapped, chaining cleaning up a patch. I prefer the spirals

Thanks, mate 👍 Depends on where you hunt. This is the lower part of the Eastern Goldfields. The area is bore wash covered geology (like calcrete), so Im thinking a Paleozoic channel, there is a CZL hill/feild with an Achaean Chert ridge and basalt surrounds. It's a valley that has test holes over 1.5 meters deep and no signs of bedrock

Great comparison but fair bit of difference in size of coil the 15” being the larger coil is always going go deeper than a 9” ,be good to mount the 15” on the 6 if it was possible I don’t think there be much difference in depth then ✨🍀⛏👍😉

There was supposed to be a 16x10 but that was 3 yrs ago lol. I prefer the 7000 over the 6000, I sold my 6 in July

@auintogold4725 Thanks for watching mate. I can swing my 20" sprial X-coil all day long, when you would of given up with you 19". As for the 17x13" I personally did not like it one bit!. There is no butchering of and coils to make the patch lead, I made my own and will be making more soon, very neat and tidy. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but if you get a chance to use a X-coil, I bet you dont look back.

Thanks Greg 👍 I bought a 20" spiral X-coil special order, so I had to wait a bit. I will be going back and giving it a sold month of hunting more on a new 40E. There are some test holes around the place, and they are over 1 meter deep and not on bedrock. Im pretty sure it's an old Paleozoic channel.

@ I watch a lot of people detect. Most have no idea how to swing their coils and search properly. In shallow ground under 300mm its easy to clean out patches, but in deeper ground or areas with hidden drainage channels in the bedrock, its near impossible. Ground moisture levels play huge rolls as well.
