Just came across this video. Love it. Such a great vibe and solid production. This channel should have 100x more subs than it does.

Really interesting video. Thanks for showing us how you work! I bought your orange vinyl for Is It Light… and it’s my favourite album of ‘21 to date. Helm is very quite special. I write too, so it’s a source of inspiration. Thanks again 😊

"Learning music production never really does not end". Certainly got that right! So cool to highlight your associates. I think it makes a big difference putting faces to the sounds. It adds a lot of context. It's funny because I was heading over to your channel just as this dropped. I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying Bones. It's quite obvious you put an awful lot of thought and care into it. I was super impressed how I could think, oh, I could really use a crash or a roll here, and you have the perfect thing ready to slide in. You can make some amazing kits with it. Anyway, thanks again and thanks for the lovely film. You keep rocking guys.

Would it be possible to implement an option to play a random sample? Would be even better if it was possible to be controlled with MIDI, hit a button and boom, random sample. Would definitely purchase it if so, love the simplicity and minimalist design approach <3

Congratulations, you made a plugin literally no one needs because there are other options like AASampler or Kontakt or CR8. No effects or editing window or tuning options: that's a pass

@@songathletics I work in software development and I know it takes alot of work and I respect that. I just don't get the USP of it. If you would sell it for like $5, I wouldn't bother but the $40 is just a shock in comparison what you get for that money on the market

Looks great. Does it have pitch detection? Many one shots are in C but if it put any one shot one the right root key so you can play and scroll even 90% of the time, that’d be huge

why would one use this over their DAW's built in options? (I'm honestly curious what's the unique selling proposition that warrants the price tag)
@songathletics6 ай бұрын
hey Richard and thanks for your comment! the key usp of OSS is that it singularly, and specifically, allows you to scroll up and down your one shots, such that anything you're playing/have got going via MIDI is changed immediately. I found other samplers tend to have you drag and drop, load in one at a time, double click etc; all of which breaks the workflow imo. It goes back to the synth preset selection analogue, which is about high-speed audition/inspiration. Then there's the fact that you can change the background to whatever inspires you whilst you're using it, which is real fun. hope that helps
@efferingo6 ай бұрын
thanks for your answer! I think when I read "It allows you to access and trigger your samples quickly and easily." I just skipped it in my brain because it sounded like marketing lingo. What you wrote about dragging and dropping makes sense (this was an aha moment in understanding for me, maybe you could highlight it in your description / video ). Although I already have XO for this specific UX issue, I would consider buying this in the future if you would add a filter/delay/reverb as an effect to it.
@sssss37506 ай бұрын
Yes, the Ableton browser is a very slow mess. An alternative sounds great. I also have XO, but that one is for drums. This one does indeed spark my interest.
@JohnCitizen-n7v6 ай бұрын
@@songathletics Yeah, I think like a lot of people, even with that explanation, I'm left scratching my head. Especially at that price point. Genuinely interested to see what other products you bring to the table. And I appreciate that you have responded personally to a question about your product on youtube - but for the moment this one is giving off pure Teenage Engineering meets Marie Kondo vibes.
@JohnCitizen-n7v6 ай бұрын
For some context, I recently purchased a sampler called Rando - which genuinely brings something new to the table for me, relative to the sampler in Ableton. While I very much appreciate the philosophy of doing a few simple things well, I feel OSS is missing the mark.
