I got recommended this four years later. So, out of curiosity, what was your experience with running an electric water pump? I'm ditching the power steering pump on an LS1 and with that gone, there's like 2 metres of belt driving not very much, and two pulleys doing nothing but setting the belt's route to the water pump. Ditching the belt-driven water pump would simplify that to just the alternator being driven. So, is an EWP a terrible idea for a road car? Thanks for your thoughts!
@Group-D21 күн бұрын
The EWP's have been great for us and 100% reliable so far so i would have no issue with running one on a road car
@LewisCollard21 күн бұрын
@@Group-D thank you, appreciate the opinion of someone using them over an extended period. Yeah, if you haven't been able to kill an EWP it's unlikely I will, so I'll take that as a recommendation :) Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Thanks Darren for this more detailed overview. The one with Lone Star Drift was good but seemed you were a bit annoyed at times with some of the questions and explaining all the development which couldn't be done fully with the car not on the lift. I have a GT Coupe shell and an AAN here in the U.S.. Recently I read maybe an Insta post saying you were still tweaking a couple things to give the chassis a more reactive feel. Would be interested to hear more on that thought process. Outstanding build! Cheers

Also... could you feed the waste gates through the lower tailgate onto a rear valence... as much downforce to you need to keep the ass end squatting??
@Group-D4 ай бұрын
The wastegates are under the turbos and dump before the subframe. It impossible to generate under car downforce on these cars as the rear is just a tube fame with no panels behind the rear wheels. If you did panel the rear they would be ripped off in no time and make the quick servicing of the car a pain. Also the cars run at too much angle to try to work the floor aero wise
@cornishmafia44 ай бұрын
Fair one, I get what you're saying about the easy access bit etc, I can relate to your driving style! What about a simple set up like an old car spoiler upside down or a bit of sheet metal with some swages for strength and bolted across the rear underneath. Or fixed to any lower tubes frame. Your one of the og Irish drifters and a falken driver in fd, I've done bangers, rods and grass roots drifting so don't know f**k all but always try and think outside of the rules box!! Mental doesn’t even do it justice. Too bad you can’t use a bit of nitrous to get it into boost quicker. It might be worth while to plumb it in for times when it’s available. Just a 50 shot to get it to spool.

By the time this is fully developed then i will be happy with the boost threshold. There should be no need for NOS
